ok well my cat's upper lip is swollen and its bleeding every once in ahwile, and we called the vet and asked them what to do and they just said that a cut on the lip takes awhile to heal, and that was it. well we think that one of our other cats scratched her while playing or arguing one of the two and so now her lip is swollen on top. what can I do to comfort her and ease the swelling and stop the bleeding??

My Mom always doctored all the pets up with human stuff. Try neosporin. Just a small dab. Good Luck with your Kitty Kitty. My guy is 19 years old and I have to give em extra lovin' because I don't know how much longer I will have em. They can become part of the family.

Get a spray bottle and squirt your kitties when they fight or get them declawed.

If it has been several days, the cat needs to see the vet because it may be infected but if it just occured ice would be the only thing that would help and that is probably not something you want to attempt unless you wrap the cat tightly in a towel.

potato starch stops bleeding fast, but your cat has a wound on the lip, she is going to lick it if she can.
If i were you I think i would keep something cold by the lip for some time as it narrows the vessels. I would apply some starch too.
Good luck.

Just try to keep the area clean and free from infection; Dab a small amount of peroxide on her lip to cleanse the area.

Your vet is right, it typically does take mouth wounds longer to heal. Just cuddle and show her as much love as you usually do. There's really nothing you can do to make it heal any faster. Best wishes!

don't worry too much about a cat, i would be more worry to human/s.......... sorry but that's my perception........... anyways, i don't know what to do with your beloved cat, if the vet said so, that means it's not in danger...... good luck!!!

ditto---use hydrogen peroxide ONLY to clean her wound. It's harmless if she licks it.
Cats' skin closes up automatically, usually.
