not as long as there are people no... religon with never truely die... its'll change over and over but never die.

It will end the only way that it can end...with either the entire destruction of the world by christian or muslim fanatics with Nukes, or the near complete destruction of the world.
It is just a matter of time before some christian in authority wakes up in the middle of the night believing that God spoke to them and instructed them to use Nukes to begin Armah mah geddon...it will probably be GW Bush.
After about 30 generations, each believing they lived in the "end times, and 30 generations of Jesus failing to come back from being dead...someone is going to tire of waiting for the dead to rise.
The best way for religion to completely come to an end is...for Athiests and Agnostics to begin planning now for the aftermath of a Nuke war between christians and muslims, let the murderers kill each other off....then Agnostics and Athiests can emerge from the bunkers 100 years later and continue to destroy any and all religious buildings and writings.
We need to erase all signs of the insanity of religion off the planet so future generations will not suffer the murderous rage and hatred which all religions demand. And of course a good idea for the following 1000 years would make any and all referances to "God" an offense punishible by death...the only defense allowed will be if the offender can compel God to actually show up
and save his butt.
Start building those bomb shelters now people...WW3 will be a holy war with Nukes being used as "hands of God" to murder billions in the name of this bloodthirsty non-existent being.

I agree that religion will never end.
Belief in god will end, though.
The Church Of Satan is an atheistic religion, or at least they dont believe in a personal god. So religion does not always mean a belief in god.
The problem with most religions is that they believe god loves their followers and no one else.

i think religion will finally come to an end if this world has been collapse.Sky and stars were fallen..All mounts had been errupted,Sun was rise from the west.Earth was wrecked and ruined into pieces by earth quakes.All humans and other inhabitant in this earth died.That day is called kiamat or never in all my life..

Actually, the Bible prophesied that false religion will be done away with by the United Nations. That will happen very very soon.

either as the others have said "when humanity dies" or when we learn the T.O.E. (theory of Everything), and find out religion isn't necessary. As long as there is something we don't understand, some one will ascribe holy hell fire to it, and find some sheep to follow his transcendent views (which isn't always a bad thing)
