We're already paying for income tax, why should we pay sales tax? It might make sense to distribute some of the money that we make to the government to help the country, but why do we also have to pay for something such as sales tax when we spend? The sellers should be the ones who pay for it since they are the ones who're generating income. Please feel free to express your opinion on this subject.

If the seller has to pay it, it isnt gonna come out of thier profit, they will just increase the cost to cover it so you are still paying for it.
Check out the Fairtax plan, it goes the other way and eliminates income tax and makes everything a sales tax... check it out http://www.fairtax.org

Sales tax is under state jurisdiction, while income tax is collected both by the Federal and state governments. Sales tax is an excise tax meaning there is a higher tax percentage on things considered luxury items. If you earn more, you shoulder a greater tax burden. One can definitely argue that there is tinge a socialist reasoning to that ( not that there aren't valid flip-side arguments). Taxing the sellers, however, is not in line with a capitalistic point of view either. You have to pick one side of the fence. To try to get rid of sales tax, you can petition your state government.

So you would be okay if the seller didn't break out the sales tax on your bill? The seller is not going to eat at his profit. They are going to pass it along to you. Why do people think Business owners shouldn't make money?

Businesses pay taxes too. You should learn about how the world works before you make comments like this.

I think the government hears you, as mentioned in the article, they are considering rebates to citizens and legal residents.
