The Mother walked out on my stepdaughter and hasn't been found (but people "hear" she is in the area) in nearly 8 years!

This isn't for child support. We want to legally have full custody of her and need the mom to write her off.
We've had her over 10 years as it is.

If there is a court order for support go to social services and report the crime. You should have her Social Security number and can trace her through employment records. Contact SS Admin and have her tax refund attached. Do the same thing with your state if they collect income tax. Apply for a job using her SS number and name see what shows up. Take her to the emergency room and say she is sick.
Tell them the father is out of town and you don't have authority to sign for her treatment.See if the Hospital can track her down. Look and see if she is using her maiden name. Go to DMV and have them revoke her drivers license or car registration.Good Luck

Why would you want to find her? Evidently she does not want to have anything to do with her daughter or you. What is so wrong in that? Not all of us want children and sometimes gals get pregnant and because of so much stupidity about abortion they have the child and honestly do not want it or anything to do with it. Just what do you want from the mother. Are you wanting to get rid of the child so give it back to the one that gave birth to it. Giving birth to a creature does not make a mother. All you are going to do is stir up a mess that is best left alone. I have seen this kind of non thinking many times and have seen many lives totally messed up because of it. If you believe she is in the area then she most likely knows you are there and her offspring is as well. If she wanted anything to do with it she would have contacted you long ago. If the girl is a teen then she most likely is pushing the issue because after all her real mother just might be better than you are. This is a normal problem with adopted and step children. Nearly always it ends in a very big disappointment and even real emotional problems for the child.

leave it alone, the headaches aren't worth it. Do you really want the bi---h in your stepdaughters life for the sake of a few dollars that you prob will never see anyhow? I wouldn't trade my stepdaughter for any amount of money.

Child support payments should go through the courts. Then the courts are responsible for hunting down the lowlife.
