Anesthesiologists are the highest paid doctors, followed by plastic surgeons, I believe.

Neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, hand surgeons, plastic surgeons.
A lot depends on the community and how many other surgeons of the subspecialty there are and how much they want to work, if they work for themselves or for an institution.
Neurosurgeons are at a premium now, and some major cities only have one or two of them, because litigous bastardry has run them out of the business.

You should check Salarywizard for the most accurate advice. I'm pretty sure cardiac surgeons top the list though.

I would say the tops are cardiac surgeons, neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and then anesthesiologists.

Cosmetic Surgeons... many rich tai-tais, movie stars, millionaires will splunge their money on plastic surgeries and pay handsome prices to keep their surgeons quiet. Ha!

yes they make a shitload..ob/gyns are up there too..but with both specialties they often pay 6 figures a year in insurance alone! yikes..

Radiologists. All they do is look at x-rays, but they make $$$$.
