I find myself strangely brave and tolerant to pain than other kid's my age. Maybe cuz i had a good bit of painful surgeries when I was little or w/e but maybe it is just false pride (I honestly don't think so)...do you think this affects my decision not to believe in god?

I think it makes you more able to believe in yourself.

I don't think this would be a question other would be able to answer for you because you are the only one who knows what is going on inside your mind. However, I do not feel it would have an affect on believing in God. I too have a really high pain tolerance, and if anything, it has made my belief stronger. You see, satan knows that this is a 'weakness' of mine and he will do whatever he can to try and wean his way into my life by it. I struggle with a spirit of cutting, and what not, and through that God brought light because I had to move past that self inflicting of pain, and that is more painful (sounds weird I know - but it takes strength and bravery to give up something that brings comfort to you). -- don't let your tolerance of pain pull you away from your Heavenly Father!

Bless your heart for even asking this question. I think weather you know it or not you are searching for something to believe in besides yourself & I admire you for that. I have had 3 brain surgeries & have a very high tolerance to pain too, but I definately believe in the Lord. But I do agree with you thinking pride is getting in the way, your smart to catch that. We have to humble ourself to God & let Him guide you through life. It does'nt make you a weaker person, it makes you much stronger.
Please search for the truth, accept the Lord as your Savior today. I'll pray for you.

I have a high tolerance to pain also. I like it sometimes too ; )
does it have an effect on our decision to deny the existance of a god? I don't think so. We just know what we are capable of.

There are many people who are either Hyper or Hypo - sensitive. It has more to do with receptors in the brain than anything else. If you want to figure out if it has anything to do with false pride, just go back and read your question. It oozes with pride. In fact I am going to guess that you are likely so prideful, that you will only consider those answers that are in line with what you want to hear.

Perhaps it is your realization of the non-existence of god that has given you that sense of strength.

Consider it this way, god is a security blanket. When you have that security blanket you feel safe, but when you don't you feel afraid. The security blanket becomes your bravery. When you grow up you realize that the blanket never actually gave you that sense of security, it was all from within yourself. When you can finally put away that blanket you are left with the realization that you are the source of your strengths and weakness.
