Dear Pookie,
Maybe this will help you some. Some of the adverse effects of seroquel are:
Somnolence, headache, dizziness and hypotension, dry mouth, dyspepsia, constipation, tachycarda, weight gain, agitatioon, syncope .
Hypotension (which fits into the catagory that you describe) meaning low blood pressure....it would be in your best interest to notify your physican of this problem as it is not good to have low blood pressure as well as high blood pressure. There is suppose to be a happy medium for a good maintance of blood pressure. 120/80 is great. However, blood pressure is related to a number of situations: It depends on your height, wt. age, and some blood pressure difficulities are because of gene make up from our families.
If your blood pressure is down to 60/40, 60/30 and you feel as though you can't function nor focus on the task at hand.... then it would be best to contact your physican and let him know...You may want to have someone to check your blood presssure pluse and keep a record of this for a few days, with this in mind you have a written record that you can present to the Doctor I would suggest that you take it four times a day---as such---upon arising in the am......noon........afternoon-----------and before going to bed......Seroquel is a potent and very powerful medication and should be monitored by your physican and lab work every few weeks....I hope that this answers your question and I wish you the very best....

Talk with your doctor immediately. Low blood pressure is a common side effect with antipsychotic medications like Seroquel. Are you taking antihypertensive meds currently? If you are then your blood pressure might be at an unsafe level. Call your doctor and discuss this now. Take care!

My Mom is diabetic and also has schizo-affective discorder as well as OCD. She was on this and almost went into a diabetic coma due to her blood sugar dropping to a dangerously low level. Seroquel is dangerous! Find an alternative NOW!

Seroquel makes me feel very drowsy and tired. I used to take it for sleep but I would just feel too tired the next day. I now take Geodon, much better!

Do any of these occur: increased temperature, altered mental status, muscle rigidity (stiffness), seizures, increased heart rate, increase/decreased B/P, fatigue, increased sweating.....If they do occur, notify your doctor immediately! It could be NMS, a serious side effect of your medication. But, if you just get dizzy sometime when standing, or dizzy at all, it is very common w/ antipschotics, but, your doctor may be able to change your medication or decrease it. Either way, call your doctor, or any doctor and tell them what is going on.

The information below is derived from a clinical trial database for SEROQUEL consisting of over 3000 patients. This database includes 405 patients exposed to SEROQUEL for the treatment of acute bipolar mania (monotherapy and adjunct therapy) and approximately 2600 patients and/or normal subjects exposed to 1 or more doses of SEROQUEL for the treatment of schizophrenia.
Of these approximately 3000 subjects, approximately 2700 (2300 in schizophrenia and 405 in acute bipolar mania) were patients who participated in multiple dose effectiveness trials, and their experience corresponded to approximately 914.3 patient-years. The conditions and duration of treatment with SEROQUEL varied greatly and included (in overlapping categories) open-label and double-blind phases of studies, inpatients and outpatients, fixed-dose and dose-titration studies, and short-term or longer-term exposure. Adverse reactions were assessed by collecting adverse events, results of physical examinations, vital signs, weights, laboratory analyses, ECGs, and results of ophthalmologic examinations.
