He have to apologise, he makes others feel insulted and it was rather inconsiderate. If the christian feels insulted because the pope apologise that means they're just being intolerably foolish> There is no wrong in apologising when you insult others and it will only earns you more respect and the world will be a better place. He's suppose to be a GOOD person.!

Problem number one:
"To refute those unjust Jews and Christians who have the audacity of criticizing Islam for the so called "violence" while completely turning a blind eye to their own holy book, traditions and yes, history."
What "so called violence" is the article referring to? September 11th? The recent captures of Israeli soldiers which led to the bombardment of Israel's population (both Arab & Jewish)? The many attempted attacks upon airliners (the shoe bomber, the foiled plot against 10 planes over the Atlantic)? The many suicide bombers through the years in the Holy Land? The continuing murder that ensues between Sunnis and Shias? Is this "so called violence?" I and all other sane people call it very real violence and a threat to the civilizations of planet earth.
Problem number two: This article states that the Bible is a corruption of God's words. The article takes Holy Scripture, where the one true living God is quoted as giving directions to His chosen people (the Jews) as to how they should besiege a city. I will have you to know that if there is a contamination of Holy Scripture, it occured when Mohammed came along and plagerized the Jewish scriptures, twisting them to write the qu'ran. I remind you how that the Jewish scriptures were written 2100 years prior to the advent of Mohammed's delusions.
The best part of the Pope's speech (and the truest) was this quote, "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."
This is reality. What great thing has islam brought to the world? What great innovation, what great joy, or art, or love? Islam brings no hope for salvation. One must "earn" his way into allah's favor. And what better way of doing it, than blowing one's self up and taking some "infidels" (innocent people) with you?
Your problem with the Pope is that he is speaking truth. Truth which opposes the cause of islam, which is to destroy human life. The problem with the Pope is, he may have actually thought that he could possibly speak reason to a pack of rabid dogs running wild in the street.

ITALY'S top Muslim official said today he considered Pope Benedict XVI's apology to Islam as a "chapter closed" which had reopened a path to dialogue between the two religions.
"We consider the chapter closed and we believe the way to dialogue has been reopened," said Abdallah Redouane, the moderate head of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Italy.

Is Islam a religion of peace? Then where there is peace, forgiveness abounds.
Where is the forgiveness?
I believe that the Muslim leaders misunderstood the Pope's acadamic lecture at the University of Regensburg where he taught.
They use these words to tempt their uneducated populous and get them into a trance-like rage.
Going into rampages and burning churches and killling a defenseless nun is not something that is rooted in reason and compassion, rather, it is based on hatred, and the father of hatred is Satan.
I personally think that the Pope should be able to speak on whatever topic he wants without death threats.
When Muslim leaders like President Ahmadinejad injects violent statements, he is proving the point that Benedict is making that Islam is not based on reason, but in violence.
If a Muslim decides to become a Christian, he is sentenced to death. Where is the tolerance in these cases?
If a Christian converts to Islam, we wish him well. He has the freedom to choose because God has given us free-will.
So what if the Pope compared Christianity with Islam and found that reason is not part of Islam? Try to repair your religion, As the Spanish painter Fransisco deGoya said:" The sleep of reason produces monsters."
How can one defend a religion of peace with violence and murder?
There is no logic in that.
I pray for all children of God to find peace in their hearts and see clearly that the way to eternal life lies in forgiveness, hope, charity and prayer.

This is a perfect example of the news media trying to divide the religious world. The media has beat this issue to death. It's time for the media to move on and get over it.

It all boils down to how we view our own faith at a personal level. We can go through any of these Holy books and find examples of scripture that would support whatever sort of act of lunacy we were attempting. We pick these books apart just looking for that one thing that allows us to justify in our own minds whatever we want. We are imperfect and riddled with sin. It would only stand to reason that our attempts to define Gods word are tainted by that sin. We like to think that Gods grace applies to us, Gods wrath applies to everyone that does not think just like us. Faith is a beautiful thing, religion is ugly. Faith is a gift from God, religion is mans sinful perversion of that faith. We twist the word of God to suit our will. The many comparisons between Islaam and Christianity are quite accurate. Both the Quran and the Bible have many acts of violence and calls to violence. I believe the underying message is that of tolerance. Jesus gave us one final commandment before he went to the cross. Love one another, as I have loved you. That's pretty simple. We prefer to go through our lives quite smug in the knowledge that our invisible man in the sky, who has done nothing to prove his existance to us is better than everyone elses invisible man in the sky, who has done nothing to prove his existance to them. It is ridiculously petty. Maybe, God, Allah, Buddha and all the other "invisible entities" are sitting around a table shaking their heads in sadness at what we've become.
