Why do babies and young children feel no shame about being nude? Did god overlook including shame in babies and young children, requiring adults to teach children to be ashamed of their bodies?

Nakedness is not the problem that you are needing to address.

Children run around naked and unashamed because they have not yet felt the power of their desires of the flesh. They do however know how to disobey right from the start.

Because original sin is disobedience and not nakedness.

Adam and Eve were both very much adults when they disobeyed God and brought evil into the world. Being adults, they understood desires of the flesh right away and felt shame that they were naked and sought to cover up.

We can tell our little children to cover up all we want, they only know that we want them covered, they still have no idea why and they are still not modest nor ashamed. This knowledge of the desires of the flesh happens at different ages for different children, but we sure know when it happens. All of a sudden they start closing the bathroom door, and they stop running around without clothes on all on their own.

Shame is not a "natural" part of creation. Like embarrassment, it is something learned. There is no shame in nudity, and God does not want us to be "ashamed" of our bodies. They are, after all, His creation, and beautiful.

"Shame" is an emotional response to being exposed in the act of doing something "wrong". It is related to guilt. I think you are confusing "shame" with "embarrassment", which is what people feel when they suddenly feel exposed in some unconventionally intimate way (whether mentally, emotionally, or physically).

Embarrassment with nudity is something learned, along with privacy, manners, and language. Such emotional responses are especially taught by example, such as the 4yr old girl walking in on Daddy in the shower, only to have Dad yell in suprise and embarrassment. The concept then begins "Hmmm. Maybe there is something about nakedness that isn't so great..." Etc.

Cause Adam and Eve didn't know they were naked, they were pure and didn't have bad thoughts before the ate the apple.
That's why babies don't feel shame when they're naked, they are pure, so they don't know that sin is in the mind of people when seeing naked bodies. People should be ashamed of their bodies, it is Temple of the Holy Spirit, and they must respect it by no showing it to others. By showing our bodies to everybody, people are feed with bad thoughts.

There's a pretty good explanation about the shame of our naked bodies in the Bible. Many Christians also believe that children are not responsible for their actions until they reach a certain mental maturity. Only answering this because you seem to believe in GOD, or at least refer to Him in your question. Societies that don't wear clothes AREN'T ashamed of nudity, it really isn't a gene or something we have at birth, it's the environment in which we are brought up.

So just because we are born nude, does that give us the right to run around nude? no it does not. But on the other hand society frowns down on nudity. You do not hear of many nudiest collonies in the united states do you or any other country. Shame is learned, it is not something we are born wiht. It something we are tought.

God didn't want us to be ashamed of the bodies that He gave us. That's why He didn't make any clothes for Adam and Eve until they needed them because they felt shame.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

Genesis 3:21 And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.

Because it is natural. Not everyone believes in God. Even so he probaly doesn't want us to be ashamed. Babies aren't born with intelligence. shame of the body is what humanity invented.

its because of Adam and Eve. They were fine and happy naked in the garden, and then the sin came. The moment they sinned they were "aware" and ashamed of their nakedness. In our culture today its not so much about shame as it is about modesty, health and practicality. I mean , would YOU want to sit on the bus after 500 other naked asses were on it?

christians are so convinced god created man and woman they seem to overlook the fact though that their god also created man and woman nude. if someone walked into a church in their birthday suit however, guess whos gonna call the police and have that person arrested. the christians!! my question is why is it called indecent exposure and why are devout christians so offended by it, if the naked body is what their god created thats supposed to be so beautiful?

i am not ashamed to be naked- it is a silly imposition of society probably because no one can keep their hands to themselves. anyway- it at least gives us something to fantasize about. thankGod for that. Plus, God did not want us to feel shame. you are puting characteristics onto something so large- God is more than just some guy. shame is a human construct.
