How come we cannot send all the illegal aliens home and charge them with misdemeanors for their crimes?

Basically I am just so angered about the Illegal Immigration issue. I am a Journalism Grad Student and I see the truth regarding the catastrophe at our nation's borders. In any other nation, the millions who cross illegaly every year would be prosecuted and then extradited back to their home country. Why does our government coutinue to be ignorant regarding this issue? If something is not done soon, California, Arizona, and Texas will be the first to go. Anyone else agree? You will if you are a citizen who sees the deception.

Dude, you hit that one right on the button. you are my new Best Friend, JK! But your are right. About 5 yrs ago I lived in WA state where the illegal immigration situation is not yet a problem. Then I moved to a border town in SO CAL, and Holy Crap, what a difference. I really realized what was going ,that MEX was taking over CA. AZ. and TX. I cannot stand it. I have seen it down here on the border, and I see it creeping up north all across the Country. We will be doomed very soon, unless we do something to resolve the problem!

Their native country has to agree to take them back. The most notorious countries at this time which don't accept their citizens back are Russia, China and Cuba. There are others but these are the most problematic at this time. Illegals from these countries are caught, processed and released unless charged with a crime other than illegal entry.
It is a misdemeanor to come into the US illegally but never prosecuted. The alien is granted a "voluntary return" if there are no other crimes involved. It is a felony to return after formal deportation but very few get time for it.

Money, how much do you think it costs to transport an illegal back to his originating country? Not all of them are caught right at the border. Also if they are from South America thats one expensive trip back, not that it matters since most claim to be Mexican for a shorter return trip.
