Yes. I think our consciousness lives on. In other words, we exist somewhat like we are, but without flesh bodies.

Those who have an enlightenment experience say that our true identity is not these individual beings with an individual psychological self and a body. It's impossible to grasp -- given our fundamental acceptance of what our psychological self and its perception mechanisms tell us -- but these experiences say that when one experiences one's true nature, birth and death and even the separateness of things are seen as illusory. People experience themselves as the 'deathless' -- that which was there always and will always be. It's beyond concepts, ideas, imagination, etc. and ... certainly not this body and the psychological self. Once that experience is had, issues such as 'death' and 'birth' and 'after life' have no meaning because it's as if a piece of the ocean that forms a wave thinks it's not the ocean and that it was 'born' when the water formed into the wave and 'died' when the wave hit the shore. It's all just a single ocean and when this piece of the ocean realizes it, it knows that to think it came into being as a wave and then died when the wave went away are just silly. But no way to describe this -- have to experience it directly. Otherwise, it's all just mumbo jumbo. Read '3 Pillars of Zen' for more info.

Of course life will exist after I die. Does anyone really believe we'll all kick the bucket together?
I know -- you meant an afterlife. No one has ever been there and come back to tell us. How on earth do you expect to find the answer here on Y/A?

Yes I do trust that eternal life exist after our death. In Islamic teaching we have 5 type of life (1)roh or spirit life in the hand of God(2)womb life in the stomach of our mothers (3)uneternal life in this world (4)in waiting room life or alam barzah before final .judged after resurrection day (5) an eternal life in heaven or hell life
This 5 type life spoken in holy book and hadith. In the Isra and Mi'raj event happened by Muhammad pbuh,he met Adam,Abra-
ham,Moses,Jesus prophets in the heaven,At that time Muhammad pbuh received a praying instruction from God Almighty.
We should make a good preparation while we live in this uneternal world for our living in eternal world.if we want to get a happy life in heaven.Life in this uneternal is very short. We have it like a show..Good preparation will be reached if we are always a good followers of our religion.A good follower should obey to all of God instructions and prohibitions stated in holy book.We should live at least in balance between secular and unsecular activities. We should do many good deeds and a few of bad deeds. We are not perfect and every time we are tempted by satans. We hope we can fight satans and be a winner. If we are often lose,we will go to hell.

Yes. There are scriptures in the Bible which corroborate life after death. Hebrews 9:27 says, "...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." Romans 14:10 says, "...we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ."
And, speaking to believers, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but, we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." I John 3:2 And again, in I Thessalonians 4:16-17, "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Also, in I Corinthians 15:51-54, "Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."
Perhaps these verses of scripture help with the "how" part of you question. As to the "what", I suggest you read the Book of Revelation where there are several descriptive passages. These give glimpses, but in I Corinthians 2:9 we are told, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."
God bless you. I hope this helps.

Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

The entire universe is alive.
When animals, including humans, lose conscious awareness, their bodies continue to "live" just like they did before. The body begins to decompose and convert into other life forms, but it never actually dies.

There is no evidence for it at all. Why would anyone think so?
Did you have a life before birth? I didn't and I don't expect one after death.

The Bible tells you about heaven. I want to be with God in eternity. That is a long time. This life here is only a temporary assignment.
