Don't we all know by now that gallup polls can say whatever we want them to say! I am pretty sure that their are polls out there that say that atheists think of themselves as more educated than Christians!

I've become a little jaded since posting on Y!A. This is due to the poorly written emails, which are full of spelling errors and run-on sentences, from christians telling me that I am stupid because I don't think there is some entity guiding the lives of 6+ billion humans.
That being said, I think there are some very intelligent and educated people who believe in jesus as the son of god. Education and Faith are not necessarily mutually exclusive

religion in general tends to give hope to the poor: don't worry you are poor now, but later the tables will be turned. so one could say its true as people with less money often have less education...doesn't mean they are not smart, just have received less formal education, though this can get into a whole mess of issues that would take far too long to discuss here. so the results of this poll, which i'm taking your word for being true, doesn't quite surprise me. then there are the whole mess of people who get rich selling religion...but thats another story.

It is more because some people aren't smart so they use God as a way to explain all that stuff they don't know. Christians aren't inherently stupid, but people with a lesser brain capacity are more inclined to believe crazier things, and stubbornly enforce their beliefs. The "real" Christians usually say that those who do it just because they don't know better (but don't actually practice) aren't "real" Christians.

That's an interesting stat, you should give a link to it. I agree w/ you. Generally, I think that religion is for those who are dumb, or who lack inner strength, and must look to a fictive faith to prop themselves up. Also, I think there are A LOT of people out there, for whom religion is deeply rooted in their family, culture, socialization, and even nationalism. In the mind of the faithful, each and/or all of these deep roots may supersede the factual basis and historic reality of a religious faith.

some of the people with University degrees who are christian did not go to certified Universities, they went to places like Bob Jones or Liberty University, Im a Pagan but i dont believe in Jehovah or Jesus because I dont appreciate that most of our stories were stolen by christians. For the record I m not into the ressurection thing, i focus more on animal guides and such than folk stories. damn thieves. and Give us back Yule too!

dont believe everything that is written by a man, that probably isnt a believer to start with. Also if that was to be true..WHY would it matter? Does it mean that many people that are educated will be going to hell for not believing or being obediant to Christ? hmm something to ponder

I've got 25 PhDs from MIT, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale in molecular biology, math, computer science, physics, and others. And I've won the nobel peace prize in 4 different categories. I'm also the team captain of my local badminton team. And, yes, I believe in God. Why? Who else could have come up with badminton?

Just look at the questions and statements made by christians here regarding evolution and other areas of science. Check out their claims of speaking in tongues, demon possession, the blatent prejudice, etc. and I think your question will be answered in full.

right it extremely is a validation for all people who responded "fake." it extremely is shown statistically that Atheist drop out of school at bigger expenditures than Christians. (google and seek to get stats.) frequently, it is an ignorant, stereotypical, biggoted, boastful view and a generalization in many situations utilized in atheistic campaigning, propaganda and proselytizing. dawkins, hawkins, are the two that stands out extra, and then something purely cling on their each and every be conscious, and alledge it extremely is an atheist component to be knowledgeable, no, it extremely is a uncomplicated sense component and better than something, there are extra Christian scientist and Astrophysicist on the entire, so we Make our childrens stay in school, generally simply by fact God does no longer have us be ignorant and we do grab all opportunities for self progression by training. Do you think of each and every atheist interior the communicate board has a level, no longer. some may be on the thank you to it, and a few are knowledgeable, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that no longer notably so.
