sure, i have an 11 year old girl. They are playful, energetic, good with children, great guard dogs, and an excellent family pet. They can be the life of any family. They are a good mixture of guard dog, and they are friendly. Its like they have a 6th sence, they know when someone is going to hurt there owner, and they take action and wont allow this to happen. They also will stop any break in, because if anyone tried to break into his territory(your house) all he would have to do is put his head up, stiffen up his huge muscles, growl, and bark like hell until he left. and if he didnt, then they would take action.
You cant leave boxers out in the bad heat or bad cold. Boxers have shorter snouts, so they cant breathe well in the heat, and they have short coats, which makes good for grooming, but they cant stand the cold. Boxers tend to jump, so if your boxer jumps on you, push it by the shoulders off of you and say NooOOo. Boxers need a lot of excercise. A big backyard is great for them. They should also be taken on walks often. Boxers are very funny, smart, and act like humans. Boxers also LOOOVE to go up on furniture(as i said they think they are humans). if you dont already have a boxer get one.

I presently have 2 older lady boxers and have had quite a few boxers interior the previous. Have additionally completed dogs rescue and rescued quite a few so have interacted with many distinctive boxers. they are amazing better half dogs and that i like the breed, yet I additionally understand the breed and be responsive to what to anticipate. they are extreme potential and choose diverse workout. especially lots each and every boxer I actual have ever primary will leap a fence. they are very athletic and don't want to be separated from their relatives. I actual have primary extra desirable than one boxer with severe separation rigidity. they are in a position to be unfavorable if left on my own for long sessions of time (my granddaughter's boxer ate their mattress). A boxer is actual no longer chuffed being left on my own all day on an identical time as the relatives is at paintings or college. additionally they could have a tendency to be over protective of their relatives (i've got primary 2 like that) and is often dominant aggressive with different dogs (they are after all, between the "gladiator" breeds). many of the time they get alongside with different dogs and prefer to play, yet I actual have considered 2 circumstances of dominant agression in direction of different dogs - one a male and the different lady. they are regularly very loving and exciting dogs that crave human companionship. they are additionally obdurate and self reliant and in spite of the indisputable fact that they are clever, do no longer regularly take properly to obedience coaching. domestic dogs have a tendency to play difficult and tough and so would have some concern for the chihuahua. a tricky enjoying boxer domestic dog would injury a smaller dogs without which ability to - purely being a boxer domestic dog! in fact, i'd inspire you to think approximately an older boxer that has been properly socialized to small dogs. Having a boxer domestic dog may well be a attempting journey, even for those experienced with boxers! I actual love boxers and does no longer be without one, yet they are actually not for each person and one desires to appreciate their little quirks and be arranged to settle for and manage them.

I'm not a boxer owner, but I do know that they seem to usually be good natured dogs. Just teach them when they're little that jumping and chewing are not acceptable, since they are a bigger breed. A few health problems like some types of cancer and heart problems. I think as long as you're willing to follow up on all of their health care needs, you should be fine.

Boy can I tell you about boxers. I have a two year old very large mail 70 pounds. I also have a 2 year old that he is wonderful with. At times she has climbs aboard when he is layong down and he does not even flinch. She pulls on his ears, muzzle you name it and he puts up with it. Not that I allow this. He is extremely energetic. We put him in our garage at times to get a break and he chews on everything-- hammers, the end of scredrivers, plasic, tape you name it. We do have a kennel for him, which he does stay in during the day. I haven't had a problem with drooling. They are very loving dogs and truly live up to what I read about him before I purchased him they want to know where you are every minute, and he definately checks around the house to make sure everyone is here. Great dog if your thinking of getting one.

Boxers are wonderful, loving, intelligent dogs but they can be quite hyper, stubborn, and sneaky. They make great family dogs but they do slobber a lot, and mine all like to play in their water bowls. I've been told that the females tend to not get along with other female dogs. But other than that they get along with pretty much anything, including cats.
They are extremely prone to developing bone cancers, cardiomyopathy, hip dysplasia, and epilepsy. I've also known many of them who were deaf.

they are very good dogs, we have 5..Have bred them and showed them in small dog shows, they originated from Germany and are very loyal also excellant with kids, I have a 4 and a 7 year old and they watch them like they were there own, very gentle and loyal. they are prone to arthritis so they do better in heated places like garages or heated kennels, we keep ours in the basement at night in the winter and they also have the heated kennels to go into... You will love and enjoy them..
