He has papers, and in peak condition, truly a amazingly beautiful Shiba. I don't want pick of the litter I just want stud fee.

Looks like between $100 and $300. I guess it depends on the pedigree. Or maybe on how ugly the other dog is- lol - Just kidding, couldn't resist. Here is a website for you to check out.

You shouldn't charge a stud fee at all. Get your dog neutered.
Just because your dog is registered and 'omg gorgeous' to you, doesn't mean anything. Likewise, how much you paid is irrelevant. People pay $3,000 or more for MUTTS from pet stores. So big deal...your $900 you paid doesn't reflect your dogs' quality AT ALL. Also, Shiba Inu are NOT rare. We have them on a monthly basis at the shelter I volunteer at---they're as popular as Alaskan Malamutes.
Has your dog been shown in conformation shows? Is he a grand champion? Has he received ANY show titles (obedience, or the like)? Were his sire and dam champions (titled) themselves? Was his grandsire and granddam? How much of his pedigree displays dogs with titles and medical information?
Has your dog been medically tested and certified clear or free of genetic diseases? Is he OFA certified for hips/elbows/eyes? Has he had bloodwork done to ensure he's free of STDs or parasites transmittable to other dogs?
Look over these sites:

Then contact a reputable and responsible breeder via the AKC website (www.akc.org) or go to a dog show. See what REAL breeders have to say about the quality of your dog and whether he should be bred.

I am a breeder of a different breed.
When I'm looking for a stud dog, I want a lot more than just "registered" and "beautiful".
He needs to be a superb specimen of the breed. Not just pretty, he needs to be structurally sound and conform to the standard. I have my choice of the top dogs in North America. Within 4-5 hours of my home are a half-dozen top quality kennels with excellent studs. It costs just as much to raise a litter of pet-quality dogs as it does to raise a litter of top quality ones. Why would I waste my time and money on less than the best.
I'm looking for a dog that comes from well-known, successful bloodlines. He'll attract my attention if he's been successful at shows, and more so if he's sired winning offspring.
He needs to have an excellent temperament. I want to produce puppies I enjoy living with.
He needs to have his health clearances. I don't want to be spending all my money on vet bills.
If you think your dog is a worthy stud, show him to his championship and get his health clearances. Breeders will see him, and if they think he is worthy they will want to use him. Talking to other breeders in your breed should give you an idea of what the "norm" is in stud fees for shibas.

depends, does he have any titles or championships or awards? If so, you can go upto a $1000. If not, i'd say somewhere between 100-400 at the most. Titles and awards make a big difference especially if they are AKC titles. Also, depends on his pedigree. Do his parents or grandparents have titles or awards? Do you have X-rays of your "stud"? Do you have a health certificate? If you have all the paperwork, x-rays, titles or awards, and the parents/grandparents were champions (especially AKC registered champs) than you can easily ask for a 1000. If not, see what the pups are going to go for and ask for the price of the pick of the litter. Go on that.

I would look at what a Shiba Inu goes for and charge that as the stud fee - that or the pick of the litter.
My GSD - first time out - is not proven - lower stud fee.
- second time out - pick of the litter.

Problem is your compeating with other male Shiba'a with bench champianships, agility titles, obedience tittles, ect. Personally I as the owner of a female (not a shiba I admit) would not even consider an untitled dog as a stud even for free. I want a REALLY good stud who's reputation will help find homes for pups and consider paying more worth it.
(If I'm wrong & you just didn't mention titles I appologize)

If both parents are not registered (don't have papers) , that means their puppies cannot be registered. Why would someone want to pay to have their dog mate with one that cannot prove it's blood lineage? If someone was to not care about any of these & just wants the puppies as companions, then, the owner really shouldn't be charging a big fee, maybe $100 at the absolute most (since he cannot prove that the dog isn't predisposed to any medical issues based on not knowing the blood line). Why wold he be entitled to a puppy? That is normally only reserved for someone who breeds registered dogs (one's that have papers) for showing. Also, before you mate your dog with any other dog, you should always verify that they are both fully up to date on all their shots.

When we let our male be used as a stud we get the price from selling the pick of the litter. Check and see what the puppies are selling for and ask that as the price.

Usually a combination of cash and pick of the litter which is easy to convert to more cash if the breed is popular.
Just a little up front cash as you will be getting a valuable puppy to sell.
