I'm looking to experience this world after high school! I need to get away and i cannot find any information of what is out there... seems like the only way to leave this country after high school with limited funds is the military and that's not for me. I will do ANYTHING as long as it gets me out of here and POSSIBLY provides room and board...

Peacecorp is not an option they are looking for a college education and the jobcorp funding has been cut drastically and im looking to get OUT of the country, not deepen my roots here. HELP!

Type work abroad into your search engine. The site below is just one place to look. They have both paying jobs and volunteer work. Check out English Village in Spain. If accepted, you get free room and board for at least a week. All you have to do is speak American English to people who have had classes, but want to become more proficient in conversational English. I liked it. I had a ball and used it as a jumping off point for a tour of Europe. Free room and board, but no other pay. I haven't tried any of the other programs yet. I would like to try one each summer. maybe I'll see you in some other country!

You could also look up the local Job Corps center in your state to give you a feel of what you might be getting into. I think they live in campuses and stuff too. It might be a good way to test the waters before you go off into a far away place. Plus you may get some more useful job skills that you can use later on.

You could join the Peace Corps, but even they are looking for people with experience and/or training in areas such as construction, nursing, etc...
