for those of you who do not know what Pseudepigraphy is its

"Spurious writings, especially writings falsely attributed to biblical characters or times"

basically writings that claim someone else as the author.

My question is their someone here that views Pseudepigriful works such as Book of Enoch, Jubilees Second Epistle of Peter and others as actually written by the authors that are claimed inside. If yes please give your reason for doing so.

On what basis do you claim 2 Peter as pseudopigrapha? Yes, there is a stylistic difference, but remember Mark seems to have been with Peter for some time and compare the language.

Who are the authors these works claim?
The ancient conception of authorship was completely different than ours. People did not consider themselves individuals; rather, they used the name of whosever disciple they were. Thus, a disciple of Peter wrote 2 Peter, a disciple of the Johannine tradition wrote 2 and 3 John, and so on.

sorry i'm not one of those who think Pseudepigraphy was written by it's claimed author... BUT ... neither were most of the CANNON texts

so why is Pseudepigraphy any less valid than the cannon?

whoever wrote Infancy Jesus, for example, told some fantastic tales of child-jesus zapping folks and bringing them back to life and such.
what is the diffence between THAT author (thomas, supposedly) and whoever wrote the gospel of john, claiming he saw jesus rise up into the clouds?

none of these things literally happened, obviously

------------------------
addition: moses wrote about his own death and burial .. moses obviously wasnt the author. many historians i've read think moses was a hebrew folk hero, like abraham and some others.
the stories of these "heros" were passed down VERBALLY for many generations before being written down

gratvol,
I do not look at authorship. I look for content, and the probablity that it is something that can be from the Spirit of God. I think that there are some things, as the Book of Enoch, that have some validity at least, in them.

You forgot the four gospels and a great deal of the writings attributed to Paul.

None of these were written by the people they were attributed to.
