I don't know off hand, but it is in there. It is called the "tithe." I have seen the scripture. Personally, I don't pay much attention to the bible and what it says. That is just another example of proof that the bible was written by men. God does not need my money. Certainly, the catholic church doesn't need any ones money. John Hagee lives in a million dollar mansion, he certainly doesn't need any more money.

it is in Malichi3:8&10,,,Le 27:31,,,De:12:17--14:22---23,&28. There are these things called despinsations which are marked by rule changes in Acts 10 and 15 there is a rule change concerning gentile christians, basically says no circumcision or tithes etc. of the old testiment, after that time tithes are mentioned as something some one or group did on a special occasion, but never as a directive. Paul a few times lists things that if you do them as a life style you can not enter heaven and not tithing is not listed. Paul does say do not muzzle the ox refering to the obligation of the sheep to keep their shepard fed etc. so he can devote His time to the things shepards do. Nothing for buildings or cars or investments or saving for a rainy day is mentioned. It does say give what you want or can joyfully, so if you are not joyful about giving do not do it.
Oh yeah the apostles were given the right to write that letter in Acts by jesus under the category of binding and loosing
Preachers who preach tithing out of the old testiment are probably in error in other places so leave that church and pray for them.

2Chronicles 31:5-6
Malachi 3:10
Again, this was the Old Testament and was not carried over to the New Testament.
The blessing of Malachi 3:10 is still valid, however. I've tithed most of my life and have never missed a dime of it.
If this is keeping you from attending church, however, go but leave your wallet at home. God doesn't need your money.

It never ever does. It was part of the mosaic law and there were three differant tithes, given at various points. When they are all added together it ends up being something like 23% of a person's income. However the use of most of these tithes is something akin to what we have today in taxes. It was dependant upon a person's citizenship in the nation of Israel, and since none of us are we are exempt, just as I don't have to give taxes/tithes to the nation of France. Jesus and Paul gave a new commandment to believers when it came to giving and that was to give according to how you are led, by the spirit or the heart. To give cheerfully, etc. The money was to be given to the local church body for distribution as the elders saw fit. How that applies to today's culture where there is not one local church per city is a matter of much debate.

The Bible says that those that are led by the Spirit (of God) are the sons of God. In matters that are not 100 percent clear from the Word we are to pray and ask God to lead us to truth. The Bible, however, clearly states that the tithe (10%) "belongs" to God. So clearly when we tithe we "give" nothing. Again if you are not sure, just be honestly led by the Spirit and you will be surprized how 10% keeps popping into your head. Of course tithing and offerings just rankle the non-believers as if it were their own money!

In Malachi 3:8 it ask if a man will rob God and says that they have robbed God in tithes and offerings, we are not only to tithe but to give an offerning also,
The Tithe was set up and paid before the law ever existed when Abraham paid tithes to Melchesidek, so titheing has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAW. And did not go away when Jesus fullfilled the Law.

Tithing was attributed to Abraham (Gen. 14:20)and Jacob (Gen. 38:22). Genesis may be man's old testament in this country presently, but it is not scriptural 'old testament'.
(The scriptural old testament is the law of Moses (2 Cor. 3:13-14). Moses was not born yet. Apply the 2 or more witnesses principle here please along with the 2 Tim. 3:16-17 advocated concept.

The Bible says you give 10% of your first fruits ( which in those times was herds, food, money, etc) to God. The same is applied to today's times. We should still give 10% of our first fruits to God. The way we do this is by giving 10% of our income at church which in turn is used to serve God. You are supporting God's ministries and missionaries. If you would like these verses about giving 10% to God, I will be happy to share them with you. There are several.
