I'll tell you what I hate about customers who come in to car dealerships....the customers lie about 10 times as much as any car salesman I've known.

Like all people, car salesmen are doing there jobs. They are some of the hardest working people on the planet. They are not trying to be your "friend", they are just trying to sell you a car. Educate your self before you go to a dealership and then you wont have such a bitter taste in your mouth. Their job is to sell you and to make as much money as possible. Can you blame them? That is how they are paid. Car sales takes alot of patience because you are dealing with customers who are legitament and just plain liars... dont blame them just educate yourself before you visit a dealer. Good deals are available.

nothing, they are just doing there job. whenever a car salesman comes up to me i just say "im just looking at the moment but if you give me your card i'll call your cell or office phone when i have any questions" and they'll always like " absolutely, Mr. David"
and if i see something i want to further check out in 5 minutes or whatever; i'll just call him and ask him to come to the spot that im at, at Mercedes dealership the salesman are always nice, they'll crusie over with the golfcart and even bring you a bottle of cold water. I have always dealt with Lexus , BMW, Mercedes and higher end cars, so i think they are more polite and respectful towards you. Like they know if you get annoyed you can afford to go elsewhere.

1) They won't tell you the actual price you will have to pay for a car.
2) They pretend to be your friend when they won't care who you are after you've given them your money.
3) You feel vulnerable because they play the game every day, but you play it once a decade.

Just about everything they say is a rehearsed lie.
Example: "There's no way i can get you financed at THAT low of an interest rate"
Me: "Too bad. The guy down the street said HE could. Guess I'll go back and see him"
Him: "GOOD news. My manager says we can make an exception just this time only"

They are people just like you and need to be treated the same way you would treat any other professional. If you hate car sales people what do you think about lawyers.

I don't like when they offer you a deal, but say you have to take it right now, and get all uppity when you say you want to check out some other places.
