Why should I not do weight lifting every day? My arms aren't tired after 24 hours.

Muscular growth, very simply, is a two-step process. First, stimulate the muscle with an overload. Second, permit the stimulated muscle to grow by providing adequate rest. Remember, muscle grows during rest, not during exercise.

Also, by taking off Saturday and Sunday, the exercise comes later, when your body is not expecting it. Growth is stimulated because your system is never able to adjust to the irregularity of training.

You can weight train everyday, but you need a split routine. One way to do that would be something like this: Monday - Legs, Tuesday - Back, Wednesday - Chest, Thursday - Bicepts, Friday- Triceps, Saturday - shoulders, and then rest on Sunday. That gives each muscle group time to recover. If your muscles are not tired after a training session you need to increase the wieght you are lifting or the reps you are doing in each set. Good luck! 2 points, yes!

Your body needs time to recover from the microtears in your muscle fibers caused by the stress of lifting weights. Every three days is a pretty good rule of thumb. You can work on different muscle groups on a three-day rotation if you like. That way you're doing something every day.
