what I mean is, do u drop to one knee like an engagement ring, or do u just give it to them like any other gift? What do u say when u give someone a promise ring?

How sweet! I have not heard of this in many years. Promise rings are given like any gift. The couple each understands the meaning.
Double hearts rings used to be popular for this. We called them sweetheart rings.

Don't drop on one knee unless you plan on a lifelong promise of marriage! Nicely giftwrap it and as soon as it it opened say, "It's a promise ring. Like it?" That way there are know mixed messages. If asked what is promised, you're on your own!

all you do is just buy a promise ring..give to them..say you love them..and that's how you give someone a promise ring..

u give it to them out of a box and place it on their finger and instead of asking to marry them you tell them what the ring is and what it symbolizes and do they accept it for that-
a promise ring doesnt have to be pre engagement ring- it could be a promise to love forever, it could be friends forever ( me n my girl did that with our exes ring, switch um out n promise to be friends ) promise to keep it real , ect .

Just give it like a regular gift and tell them that it represents the good feelings that you have for that person. Don't make it into a "big thing" .. or you may scare them off. Good Luck ! :)

you hand it to them and say eh yeah that ring symbolizes whatever you want it to then hope they stop asking about getting engaged for a while

go down on one knee. and say 'i love you very much and i can't stand the thought of you being with someone else. and i can't stand the thought of not being with you. will you accept this promise ring and be mine. and let me be yours.' i guarentee she will melt into your arms.

first stick the ring in thier but while they are sleeping. that will get thier attention. then slap them as hard as you can. now look them directly in the eyes and say " with this ring i promise i will never do that again."
