Call your dentist and get some pain meds. Root Canals can hurt up to 10 days after you have them.
Call the office and see if they have an on call number you can call and get a prescription.

It's possible for it to lead to osteomyelitis, but it's not common. In general it is quite safe, although that doesn't mean it's always painless. I had a root canal done that was quite painful because my facial nerves aren't in the same location as in normal people. I'd be sure to have someone who can drive go with you so that they can give you gas if you need it.

Take 800mg of Ibuprophen every 8 hours. That will reduce the swelling and should relieve enough of the pain to let you sleep. That is all I took after my root canals, and I had no problems.

In the morning, call your dentist and get a prescription for the Ibuprophen.

In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

Yeah. Next time tell the assho_le dentist (which are ABUNDANT unfortunately) to extract the tooth. It won't afford them a trip to The Bahamas, but it'll sure end your pain, quickly and cheaply. Root canals are a sham. You DON'T need that tooth. And most importantly, DO NOT buy a bridge. That bullshi_ about teeth crowding is a means to Epcot for the family. His, not yours.

They must not have prescribed you any pain meds. I would take whatever you have for pain at the house and if you can stand waiting till tomorrow to call your dentist, call and get him to write you a pain prescription. I can't believe he didn't do that to begin with. If you really can't stand it till tomorrow maybe you should go to the Emergency Room. They can get you something strong for the pain.

You could go to the ER and the doctor that's on call could perscibe you some pain medicine. Have you tried Tylenol PM or Advil PM they help with the pain and help you get some sleep.
