We are the best of friends and we feel more than that at times but the age difference is always a bit of an obstacle. If old guys can have younger women then why cant a very attractive older woman have a younger guy?

I think it's sort of a big gap to last, in my opinion. Many guys the same age as their brides want a younger woman in time, the same could surely happen to you. Plus, a 35 year old guy who is a decent, focused person may not have ruled out having kids, which is not going to happen with a 52 year old woman. When you are retirement age, he will be only 49.
Dating, maybe; partners, I wouldn't do it.

Who is affected by the age obstacle? Love, caring, trust, romance, or sex does not have an age minimum or maximum. All of us only have one life, live yours for you. Your 35 year old guy is a man and you are a woman irregardless of both your ages. If you were 18 would you consider him to be an old man? Probably, but your not a child and neither is he. My hat is off to Ridegley who is happy with his wife after all those years and who is an inspiration to me that all men are not just into f**king the 26 years old that someone else said may be the threat.
If a man will venture out to the26 years old, he will do it at 35, 45 or 55. So, trust that your man is committed to you and then enjoy each and every moment together.

Age differences in any relationship can become an issue. it can become a greater issue when you are 65 or older; your mate will still be under fifty and not looking to slow down. I have dated in these parameters: up to ten years older or six years younger.

From the first glance at this question I thought that maybe the man was looking fpr a mother figure. After I read the rest I am not so sure. If marriage is what best friends want then so be it. I just think that you aren't sure thats what you want....

I'm forty and my wife is sixty nine. we've been together for 19 1/2 years and married for 13 years. I love her dearly and we have a very good relationship. If you and yours are happy that's a good thing. don't sweat what others think about your relationship they don't pay your bills now do they! Best of luck and God bless
