You cannot spot reduce fat from your midsection. You need to burn more calories than you take in.

But while spot reduction is not possible, spot gains of strength in certain body parts is. Isolating and strengthening the muscles in your midsection can automatically decrease your waistline, even if no attention is given to reducing your calories.

all depends how you go about this, if money is no object, get a personal trainer,go to a gym, join, a surf club. but do not go out and buy a hold lot of equipment, till you have at lease tryed it out at a gym.
eat healthy, go for lots of walks, swim,do 100 sit up a day, get off that butt and walk, it really works as long as you do not have a beer etc ect after each work out.
getting started is the hardest, so get of the computor and start now////////
good luck

I've read that you should actually eat 5 meals a day - but smaller portions. In addition, you need to watch your GI or glycemic index. The real issue seems to be not how much fat or carbs you eat but how what you're eating affects your blood sugar. Spikes in blood sugar trigger hunger & cravings causing you to over-eat. Believe it or not, if you eat foods with a low-GI rating, they actually dissolve fat in your stomach! Of course regular exercise (crunches/situps) doesn't hurt either - just letting you know you don't have to starve yourself in the process!!

You should do some good cardio exercises to help burn the fat away.... to lose the weight, then some good ab crunches, use one of those balls.... to tighten up the muscles. It WILL work...

You really can't spot reduce, so just burn fat by exercising and building muscles that burn more fat.
I jog/run 2 miles per day, 6 days per week.
running builds leg muscles and tightens core and stomach muscles.

the plank excercise works really well as long as you do it right - keep your back completely straight (no sagging) and stay up for more than 30 seconds. do it every day, and in about 3-5 weeks you should see a change.
