meditation, sleep, prayer, talking to a good friend you trust, acting on the situation that is causing the stress in a positive way, or if your into good sex. my way is artwork, I am an artist and painting helps me clear my mind to think better on whatever it is and figured out the best possible way to relieve myself. It really all depends on you and your personality, I have a friend who like to go for a spin in his truck just until hes able to think clearly, sometimes its not the safest way but it works for him.

The ONLY way that has ever really worked for me was exercise, hard strenuous, don't think you can do it another minute but keep going anyway type exercise. I know everyone says things about endorphins and that may be true, but my opinion is because it gives that adrenaline something to do, rather than sit in a still body and ramp up your fight or flight systems, like those stress hormones are all dressed up, nowhere to go.
Exercise saved my psyche and soul when I got divorced thirty or so years ago.
When the stress has eased off some, find some way to have a laugh, one of those face freezing, tears running down the cheeks, could not say a word if you had to kinda laughs. That reboots all the emotions, truly. All natural, herbacious, pharmaceuticals can help in that regard, if you get my drift, but don't overdo it with that stuff, and don't do it until you can tell you are already getting better.

Your stressed out because you shouldn't be with either guy. The first guy was abusive and that will not change no matter how much you think he will. Absence does not make the heart grow fonder, so you need to break off the engagement with the 2nd guy. Next, you need some time to yourself to grow. In other words, no men for while. You need to find out who you are and what you really want from life, and for now, that should not include romance. Take some classes or do some volunteer work. Take the focus off of men for awhile. The stress should disappear immediately.

BREATHE!!!
i know it doesnt sound like it would help, but it does!
I've got really bad anxiety, so I get stressed really easily. I'm also on medication for it, but I've noticed that when I feel an attack coming on, I can sit down, close my eyes, and just breathe.
Concentrate on enhaling and exhaling. In yoga, they teach you to count 1..2...3... while you inhale and then re-count on the exhale. This makes you really focus on the breathing. Also, try to extend each number after every few breathes.
Good luck, hope it helps!

Extreme stress calls for extreme measures--I say take up tai chi or yoga, and go as many days a week to class as you can until you start to calm down.
Stress is worse than anything else, because it makes everything else worse.

Lay down, tense all of your muscles, then slowly let each muscle go limp until your body feels as light as possible. Breathe slowly, in through the nose and out the mouth. Keep your eyes closed and make your brain look like a blank page. Stay that way until you feel relaxed enough to start up again.

going to a gym or get moving.. you need to get your endorphins up that is what makes people happier...
you can also do deep breathing therapy... It does work, yes because I do all of this myself each day...
take a walk for 20 minutes each day that is also a good stress reliever... listen to some soothing music... take a long bath..
