What would you do if you were confronted with a case of conjoined twins, where one had to be terminated to save the life of the other else they would both die?
How would you justify your decision?
And do try not to say things like "God will sort it"...that's called a "cop-out".
Simply, if you can't think of something else, don't answer the question.

It would NOT kill both to destroy one to save the other. This has been done already.

Googly, it would destroy me to make the decision, but I would have to allow the doctors to do all they could to save one of the children.
Don't ask me to choose which child, because I couldn't. I would tell the doctor to save the child who had the greatest chance for survival.
That's a tough call, and I hope I never have to be in that position.
Excellent question.

In a sinful world things are not always going to go perfectly and there is not always an easy answer. Since I am not actually confronted with this, I have to be honest and say I don't know exactly how I would respond.
I value the sanctity of life and believe that every life should be handled with care. I would definitely pray aobut it and know that god knows my heart and if I would make the wrong choice or the right choice, His grace would see me through to the end. that is not an excuse to do what I please or an excuse to deliberately make the wrong choice because God will forgive- it does not work that way- God looks at the heart and not outer apprearances.
I know you will probably write my answer off as a cop out, but anything else would be less than honest- I cannot say I know I would make the right choice or what I would do- I just know that if it were ever to happen, at the time and place needed, I completely trust God to give me the discernment and strength and wisdom to make the right choice.
There are a LOT of things in this world that are not as God intended them- that does not mean He cannot be glorified through them- they are what they are and sometimes there is no "right" answer- just having the right attitude and a teachable and correctable heart is what is important

First, everyone is "pro-life" when it comes to their own and the lives of those they love. The question is how do we apply it to others.
I'd do what was medically necessary to treat the united twins. If an operation was necessary, it would not be to "terminate" (kill) one, it would be to do what is necessary to save one.
Yes, there is a difference, being "pro-life" I can never directly kill an innocent human life, but I can do all that is necessary to save a human life. The death would be the unfortunate consequence but not the intended one.

I think there are cases where this has happened, keeping one alive was seen as the best option. I notice how many cop-out answers there are here even though you asked them not to post, typical

I am a Mother of twins. I was told I would not survive carrying or giving birth to a child. I was told to terminate my pregnancy. I trusted God. God gave me two wonderful sons, and against all odds we all three survived! God is good and does great things for the faithful!

Since the fall of man(Adam) the world is not perfect. There are biological errors. You'd have to see who had the best chance of surviving and let God take the other one home .Cry your friggin' eyes out and read about when King Davids son died,he said,"before the child died ,I wept and mourned, but now that he's dead,I know he won't come back to me, but I WILL GO TO HIM SOMEDAY.So therefore I weep no more".(paraphrased)

I doubt that situation would arise if they each had a functioning brain. If it did I guess I would go with the one who had the best chance of a healthy life.
Sorry I didn't "squirm under the lights". I know that's what you wanted.

simple. we are to choose life. I would make sure that the one that could survive would survive. taking the life of the one who would kill them both is saving a life. one death is better than two.

The world is overpopulated. Donate the conjoined twins to science as well as all those that believe that a real god would drown every living thing on the Earth save those on the Ark...

I'd go with saving the one that would live. One is better than none. Hell, its a freak of nature...if it can be medically solved somewhat go for it. Not everything is as perfect as you want it in this world...you can only do the best you can...and don't flog yourself in what you can't control.
