mini english muffin pizzas - kids can make their own toppings, you put on pizza sauce on the english muffin half, they do the rest, bake for 10 min on 350 Another is mac/cheese with ground beef or chicken. 1 lb pkg of elbow macaroni or other small fast cooking pasta, 1 jar Ragu Cheedar Sauce, 1 can cooked chicken breast, drained, a little salt, 2 cups pea/carrot mix or other veggie that they like. Cook the noodles, drain, add the rest and heat up. Should be enough for left overs too. Filling, fast, and very kid friendly. Another idea for you to cut down on time is to prepare all the weeks meals over the weekend. Freeze/refridge and heat up. I love my crockpot because I can make a large batch of chili, we will eat it one night, freeze the other half and pop it in and heat again in crockpot before leaving for work so it is done when I get home. I cook it all on low for the entire 8-9 hours. Gumbo, chicken, meatloaf, roasts, soups/stews, the crockpot bags are great in a real pinch, etc. are all done in th crockpot and then I just heat up frozen veggies or make a salad to go with. If you need a starch, instant potatos or rice/noodle pouches are wonderfully quick. I use two crockpots and rotate out so they are clean and cool on oposite days.

With our crazy schedule (I have 3 girls who are all very active), we often don't have much time to eat, let alone make a complicated dinner. I am also one to make sure I cover all of the food groups and particularly try to include foods with calcium, as 2/3 girls don't like milk. I keep a supply of standard items on hand (hot dogs, fishsticks, chicken fingers, ...), then add fresh fruit and/or and frozen veggies. Will give yougurt or pudding for desert after dinner if still hungry or for a snack later. I have found the Birds Eye Steamfresh vegetables to be a lifesavor. 4-5 minutes in the microwave and they are steamed perfectly (not too mushy or too hard). The same brand also has complete meals in a bag (Voila!), such as garlic chicken with pasta and vegetables, that generally take 10 minutes total to prepare, cook, and serve. Also sometimes add Lipton pasta side dishes or Betty Crocker instant potatoes (have a variety of types- i.e.- garlic and herb). I do not like instant potatoes, but the kids and husband love them. I also try to make dishes once or twice a week and make extra so that it can be served the next day as leftovers or frozen to be used later (lasagna, tuna noodle casserole, meatloaf, etc.). Not my husbands favorite, but the kids all like them.

I have to cook complete healthy meals for my son and it is very hard. As he has PWS(you'd have to look it up) anyway...If I'm in a rush then I buy some weight watchers meals.there made healthy and fill you up. Prego and noodles is always fast and easy, hamburger helper has new 1 person portions out now also, cook up groudbeef and keep it in the fridge and add it to the helper when cooking it in the microwave. Or theres always the old fav,Tomato soup/grilled cheese. Thers all sorts of healthy food out there but don't start with the fried frozen food as it will put the kids on the wrong track for Adulthood.

Skin and cut into bite size pieces some potato's add some cut up carrots, add cream of chicken soup diluted with half soup can water. Bake covered until potato's are done in about a 350 degree oven. Served sprinkled with cheese. Add whatever meat you think will work the best, "I kind of like sausage hot dogs but I boil a little of the grease out of the meat before adding it to anything"

Brown some ground beef, put that in mac and cheese, with extra cheese, or put in condensed tomato soup and a bit of water and add to spaghetti noodles. Boiled noodles, a couple of cans of tuna, an egg or two, some cheese, very good tuna casserole. Get a few pizza shells, some sauce and toppings, and let them build their own pizza.

My kids love breakfast at dinnertime. Just make up a batch of the easy pancake mix ( just add water) and a big glass of milk. It's comforting and they love the change.
