Take its temperature with a rectal thermometer. The "normal" range for a dog is around 100-101 degrees. If the temperature is over 102, get the pup to the vet.

If you feel your dog's nose and it's no longer wet and cold, but warm and dry, this is a tell tale sign that the dog isn't feeling well and has a fever.

Use a thermometer. A normal temp is between 99-102.4 (round about). Be sure a lube it a little, and don't put it in too far. A digital thermometer works best, in my opinion.
