I mean, some girls do have long hair but the majority of girls don't...they have shoulder length or shorter but they are always (well, maybe not always...lol) going on about how much they love long hair......so, if they love it why don't they have it?

Thanks for the answers!

Felix, is that a challenge? One of my favorite albums by Led Zeppelin is Houses of the Holy and the drummer is Bonzo (John Bonham)......lol, I can also name you every member of The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, GFR, Dr. Hook....

Also, I have long hair (very long hair, almost to my but) and its very healthy and not that hard to take care of....but then again, I think I inherited my dads hair, he had very healthy hair w/o even trying and his was LONG (I'm a hippies kid)

My guess is that they love the look, but don't have the guts to do the work to keep long hair looking great.

I have long hair, and can sit on the very tips of it. I do need a trim, but don't trust beauty shops, since the last time I went in for a trim they hacked 6 inches of healthy hair off!! (You better believe they heard about it from me!!) That was a LONG time ago, and now my husband does the trimming. Since he loves my hair long, I know I'm in good hands and don't have to worry about a hair cutting nightmare. Viva Long Hair!!

I have waist length hair and cut 1 foot off each year.

I have come to the conclusion that people like long hair but don't want to mess with it.... thinking it is too much to take care of... Actually I think I do less with my hair than those with short hair for they are styling all the time. I just brush and go or put it up and go...

I have had long hair for 20 years now. I talk of cutting it and my husband says NO... ha ha ! : )

I had long hair growing up (past my waist) and got a bad haircut, went through 4 years getting it to where I could get a style in it, love long hair but could not have it!! And then being in the military its hard to keep your hair up so I kept it short... recently started growing it out but I suppose because I have been keeping it up in a bun 7 days a week puts more stress on it then I would like, and unfortunately it looks like poo poo so I had to cut it. Now I am old and my hair does not seem to want to grow past the middle of my back.
I have been cursed with loving long hair but not being able to have it any longer. Never thought I would anything like this, but you'll understand one day... (I use to hate when older people told me that!)

Long hair takes a lot of work. A lot of my friends have short hair and always tell me how much they love my hair, it's almost down to my elbow now, but I cut it recently. When it's long it's harder to style and wash and everything! It does look pretty when It's done right, but I never have a lot of time in the morning so It's usually just plain down, wavy though.

A lot of people find long hair hard to manage. A lot don't like it on their necks. A lot work somewhere that doesn't allow it on males because it "portrays unprofessionalism". (I personally think a clean, straight ponytail on a guy is tasty, and that David Gilmour had the hair of the gods... and Roger Waters had the first emo 'do)

Most guys I know don't like spending time on their hair.

I love long hair, and I also enjoy helping people. I grow my hair, then cut it and donate it to locks for love. Grow, cut. I just keep doing it. It's something that makes the heart feel good.

Perharps it just takes too long for them to get their hair that long. Or they could just like it but not want it for themselves. Maybe they just dont want all the work that comest with long hair. I love long and short hair. But I like long hair more. I recently got my hair chopped off and now I am regreting it. So now I have to wait to get my long hair back.

In my experience people never have long hair like Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider or Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall. They have long hair like Cousin It in the Adam's Family or Carrie in Carrie.

cause it's a pain in the *** to take care of! just think, combing it out after showers, styling (blow drying UGH), keeping it looking healthy (don'tcha just HATE IT when girls w/really long hair have nasty split ends?), and all the rest. who wants all that hassle?
