I didn't know the reason why Bush wants exoneration now for his torturing, the Red Cross is/will interview 'detainees' and it's expected they will recount their torture there. My question is, if the President of the United States is charged with war crimes in office and by presumably an international court, WHAT HAPPENS?

Defending us? I recall Saddam being on trial for gassing 5,000 people to 'protect' his people - are you saying there's no limit if we did that?

It's a new precedent in International Law for someone from a country with so much power to possibly be charged, so in reality, no one will know until it happens.

Well, the US would send him to the World Court.

The ICRC isn't there to recount torture. They are there to interview for the general state of being of the detainee, and to send communications with loved ones. They go to Guantanamo Bay every 6 weeks, and have done so since all of this started. This is nothing new.

IF is pretty big, but in the case that we can find one senator with enough heart to propose an impeachment, then he gets put on 'committee trial', wastes a bunch of taxpayer time and money, and the other problems we should be looking into will continue to be ignored (corporate control, fascism that gave Bush his power, overconsumption, environmental destruction and overpopulation).
It's all just marketing anyway.

Now this is funny. In 1996, the Republicans passed the War Crimes Act because they wanted a legal noose to hang Hussein with.

With Bush’s violations of the Geneva Conventions, the Republicans have put the rope around their own fearful leader’s neck. Like Dumb hanging Dumber.

Is it serious? Serious enough that Bush is trying to get the law overturned.

Now that’s funny …. I don’t care who you are.

The problem is that charging President Bush with war crimes is illegal. The President is right and he is fighting for our freedom. He is making the world safer for all of us and making the United States safer from these cowardly forces that want to spread hate and fear. WE did not start the war.....but WE will finish it.

Not a thing because there is no evidence for such a charge.
