Induced Fever?
I am doing a project on thermometers and the correctness how would I induce a fever... and tips... thanks
the thermometer can not be tampered with it has to be a person who already has a temp...so (my mom is going to be my guinea pig) what she do to induce a fever.... like put a penny under her tongue etc.

A hot drink would raise the temp of the mouth.

if your mom is going through menopause, you could take her temp. when she is having a hot flash.i have heard you can bring on symptoms of menopause by eating lots of soy.(tofu, soy milk, vegetarian frozen entrees) but not sure if it is true.it is true that soy has lots of estrogen,so maybe it stops your body's production of it or some thing.another thing to try is eating something incredibly spicy just before taking temp. one last suggestion,induce a hypo-glycemic type attack. it makes a person very sweaty, shaky.to do this,eat simple carbohydrates(not complex) so blood sugar goes up and down dramatically.on the down time, when she is very hungry, take temp. simple cabs= sugar.i would not recommend doing this, as it is unhealthy.

Well, I don't think you can induce a real fever. You'd have to find someone who really has one. That may be hard to do, sorry.

Just have her drink some hot tea or something?

put a bar of soap under your arm and it will raise your temperature but will not make you sick.
