Good Question...gave you a thumb's UP!!

Implantation bleeding occur's when pregnancy has taken place and the "fertilized egg" burrows(implants) into your uterine wall's...normally 5-12 day's AFTER ovulation. Or it could be from a slight rise in your estrogen & a drop in your progesterone before the corpus luteum takes over the production of progesterone. When implanted the "fertilized egg's" signal the body that pregnancy has occured and that the linning must be obtained in your uterus. If it last's for more that afew day's..NOT implantation bleeding.
So it doesn't last like a period, and it ONLY occur's if PREGNANCY is current!

Hope that answered your question!!

when the fertilized egg implants itself in the wall of a woman's uterus, it sometimes causes mild bleeding. It is not like a period, mostly just pinkish or brownish spotting and can last for a few hours or a few days. It usually happens 5-7 days after ovulation(when the egg is released).

I had implantation bleeding for the first 3 mo. of my pregnancy... or maybe less... It is spotting... Not your period.. According to the doctor.. Its when the embryo is attaching itself to the uterus... It causes light bleeding....
