The 2006 Accord or Corolla would be my choice....better crash test and resale results than the other 2. Do your research on the internet and get the true invoice price...dealers will be dealing the closer it gets to the end of the year. Shop late in the month, salesmen will be more eager to meet sales goals or bonus.

Your narrow selection indicates a near new, standard, plain, boring variety of vehicles. I'd encourage you to open your choices to less expensive older options such as a full size Lincoln Town Car (1995-2000) or something like an MG.
The kind of car I recommend will certainly not be anything ordinary. It should be selected based on the idea that it is unique & a real source of pride. It would be, in my opinion, silly to waste money on anything less than exceptionally splendid. The 3 you've indicated fail to capture the spirit of motoring.

Sure, support the Asians, send your money overseas.
But when your Uncle Louie from Detroit comes to live with you because he got laid off by Ford or GM, don't whine to me.
15 years ago, sadly, I might have agreed with you. But the new cars coming from GM are just as good as anything you can get from any other manufacturer.
Set aside your prejudice and take a hard look at the new models available from domestic manufacturers.

Drop the Zephyr from your list and you'll do well.
Deal with the internet sales dept of your local dealer. Ask for their best price, and compare to other dealer quotes.

Get Accord for its 6 cylinder power and best resale value. If gas milage is your main concern, then go to get Corolla.

Corolla or Accord
Your best bet before you spend that kind of money is to go to www.consumerreports.org and pay the $4.95 to use it for a month and see what they say. They test cars and give unbiased reports on them. We don't buy anything without checking with them.

I've always heard good things about the Accord. Test drive all of them and see which one YOU like.
