The Melbourne study for early detection of Alzheimer's hopes that early detection and intervention may help slow the development of Alzheimer's.
There are currently 117 Clinical Trials designed to find new treatments for Alzheimer's Disease. These can be accessed at the Clinical Trials website listed as a source, below.
Current best approved treatments include cholinesterase inhibitors, mematine, and vitamin E.
As other people have already mentioned - there is no cure.

So..
A very good, eye-opening site about this problem is: http://memoryloss.toptips.org
Memory loss may be due to many conditions such as small strokes in the brain, diabetes, high blood pressure, nutritional deficiencies, reactions to medications and alcoholism. The symtoms of more severe forms of Dementia / Alzheimer are mainly: poor judgement, poor decision making, masplacing things, difficulty having a conversation, losing track of dates, etc. If you notice any of these signs visit your doctor.
Regards

There is not now, nor has there ever been a cure for Alzheimers. There may be treatments, there is a medication that sometimes helps, or delays the onset, but no cure.
With all of their technology and money, isn't it tragic to know that the last disease that was "cured" was polio?

My mum has vascular dementia (a form of alzheimers). She was put on a drug called aricept after about 4 years of dementia signs. It kept her steady, with no sign of deterioration. She was under the care of a geriatrician, but refused to return, because she didn't like being told she had dementia. Anyway, her stupid GP took her off aricept and she declined rapidly. The only way to go back on it was to get another prescription from the geriatrician, but stubborn Mum refused to go. We asked the geriatrician over the phone about drugs to stop this hideous disease and she verified that aricept, along with a newer drug (not sure of its name) would keep dementia in the very early stages stable. The earlier it is diagnosed, the better the chance of keeping it at bay.

So..
It's sad to say that Kidney Disease is the new American epidemic that attacks over 40 million people ever year and over 200 million worldwide. 10 months ago my Doctor told Me these depressing words "Your Kidneys Are FAILING!". I didn't know what to do to heal my kidneys I was terribly worried about being chained to a dialysis machine for the rest of my life. Luckily I was able to almost completely reverse my problems thanks to some great doctors here in Chicago.
I also found many interesting and eyeopening info about my condition on this site http://kidneydisease.toptips.org. Check it out!
Have a nice day

Sadly ............ no there is no cure YET. I wish there was, my mum has now suffered for 16 years and it is one of the most heart wrenching things a family can go through. I hope and pray that you are not suffering the same fate, there a few people in this world I would wish that upon.

There is no cure. And sadly, Americans spent more on breast enlargements and Viagra than on Alzheimers research last year.

There is alot of research going on, but there is no CURE. Early detection as with cancer and other incurable diseases is the key for fighting, but there is no cure as of yet. Hopefully. . .

there is no acutal cure for alzheimers, they can dectect but that's about it. Researchers said eating more vitamin c can help prevent it or something but i'm not entirely sure about that. (the vitamin c part)
