OMG!!! You are so opening like a HUGE can of worms with this one, I haven't even read the 29 responses yet, but I can imagine how ugly this one is getting...

Now onto your question. No there is absolutely NO reason you should ever get an abortion. I believe it is murder and I believe that God gave you that presious life inside you for a reason. I don't care if it was from rape or not!! It is still a life! Not to mention, I know girls that use it as a form of birth control, do you realize how that messes up your uterus and tubes? How hard it could be to get preg again when you have abortions? Now a days there are so many other options...adoption, invetro fertilization, you name it, it can happen. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that justifys an abortion. That baby never asked to be there maybe the mother to be didn't either, but that is beside the point, the point is..It IS there!!

What justifies an abortion?

1) Rape at any age. I don't care what age it is and I don't care if it's someone you knew - if you were raped you did not "set yourself up" for getting pregnant and you didn't "set yourself up" to carry a baby

2) When the health of the mother would be in jeopardy. Sometimes it is determined that the mother is not able to carry a child. In some cases, a mother miscarries. In other cases, the mother does not and carrying that child to term could be damaging to the mother (sometimes fatal). If that is determined in the 1st trimester then I think abortion is justified if that is the decision of the mother.

3) If a couple has made every effort to prevent pregnancy (besides the obvious abstinence) and the parents are not mentally, financially and/or emotionally prepared for a child then I think abortion COULD BE justified. Even birth control used "perfectly" can and does fail and sometimes women can only do so much to prevent the unwanted pregnancy.

You don't believe in abortion under any circumstances and yet you had one? That does not make sense.

And many people can preach all they want, but unless they are faced with hard circumstances then they really can't comment. The 15 year old girl having a baby - is that okay? She SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD SEX to begin with! So let's get to the ROOT of the problem before arguing about the outcome. She can't even spell and she is going to raise a child? That's the scariest part. No offense, honey. But my word.... I applaud you for taking on the challenge of raising your child but it is frightening that children are being born to children.

An abortion can be justified in many ways. For instance, I have epilipesy. If I have another baby, the medication I take will most likely cause serious birth defects, including serious mental issues. On the other hand, if I stop the medication, I can lose my life, as well as the baby's. In any instance where the mother's life is in danger, abortion is justified.
Honestly, if I were pregnant, did not want the baby, and the fetus was VERY young, I would not hesitate to have an abortion. That is my perogrative. I will also mention that I have two beautiful children, and I miscarried my first pregnancy at 5 weeks gestation. I mourned deeply for that lost child, but, in reality, it was simply a mass of chemicals and genes and a blueprint for a "baby". It was not a baby, it did not have a mind.
Abortion is a personal choice. And do not tell me it is not, because legally, it is. Religiously, it may not be, but I live in America, not in heaven. Abortion can be justified in many ways, as long as it's a decision the mother can justify, and live with.

No, at 1 month gestation, it is not a real baby inside you. It is the building blocks of what can be a baby. Justification? Depends on who you are and who you speak to. But for now, Abortion doesn't even need to be justified, simply make an appointment.

And for your comment "it really bother me that peoplel think it is okay to kill a baby", well, rape or not, if you feel that way, you must stand by your feelings ALL THE TIME.

when sperm meets an egg it is not a "baby" for a long time, more like a mouse or rat foetus than a human.

aborting a bunch of cells growing inside you is ok. the mother always has the choice.

a real dilemma comes atl the point when it is REALLY able to live independently of the mother. perhaps then birth and adoption is the more "moral" choice.

don't make these decisions based on someone else's interpretation of a book written more than 2000 years ago by a bunch of old jewish patriarchs. get with the reality of the situation and live in the 21st century.

it's never a nice choice to make but sometimes, for some people, it's the best one. it's hard enough already. give them a break.

I am not for using abortion as a form of birth control just because someone chose not to use condoms or the pill, etc, but in some cases it is needed, like if the mother's life is in danger, rape/incest, or something is seriously wrong with the baby and they would not survive.

I still don't believe in abortion. Even though you were raped I think you should have the kid and give it up for adoption at least instead of killing an innocent child.

no one is saying that killing a baby is right.Try and have an open mind if you could see the FEATUS at the matter of weeks in which they carry out and abortion then MAYBE you would think twice about calling it a baby. Yes it's very contraversial but please try and think about those poor people who have no choice through mental health or other related reason why terminating a featus would be best. We have to many children in adoption and care.no one would condole killing a baby. its something totaly different.

No abortion is not okay, it is a life, and we should not be murdering our smallest most defenseless victims. Even if you can't keep the baby there are thousands of good homes that would love to adopt. It is an act of love to carry that baby to term and let a loving family adopt it rather than kill the baby.

It's NOT a real human life inside you. It depends on you for everything. Therefore, it is not a self-sufficient "human being", rather, it is an incumberance upon you to sustain it. And your right to get rid of it is paramount. As a dependent member of your body, it is your prerogative as to get rid of it or supply and nurture it. Kill a baby, schmill a baby... There is no child before it's born. And then, make NO MISTAKE!!! It is the responsibility of the bearer to care for the tike, at ANY cost.

I think abortion is an abdication of responsibility. You've done the act, and now you want to kill the life inside of you due to your irresponsibility.

But then again, I'm a man and I wouldn't be the one having to give birth and then give the baby up for adoption. Still, I think it is the responsible decision.
