Does it apply to all kinds of exercise?

Carbonated beverages tend to give you gas and put air inside of you. You don't want that when you work out. Especially runners. You can get a side stitch from that. Marathon runners will sometimes drink them, but they always shake them first to get them to the point that they won't put the air inside of you.

what do you mean by carbonated?
Coke
sprite
pepsi
gatorade?
Gatorade is benefical for you because it replaces all the vitamins and minerals you lose during running b/c you sweat it out. Losing vitamins and minerals applys to all physical excercise, but not to something that is easier on the heart like doing light aerobics or yoga
