I have four kids, a beautiful house, a (mostly) great husband, I don't have to work or worry about bills. I am just bored.

Thank you all for you're thoughts. I do volunteer in three of my kids classrooms. I also running an auction/ benefit dinner for our local farm. I am involved in the town historical society and hosting the town football fundraiser. I still feel unfulfilled. I guess I need a job, but haven't worked in twelve years. I have a masters degree in social work, but got pregnant before I could start a career. Plus.. I don't know how I could parent my kids successfully while working outside of the home. Sorry to be so long winded! Thank you again.

Wow , take a deep breath .
Sounds to me like you are already spread too thin .
Who takes care of you ? It is time for a time out for Mom .
Like so many of us Mommys you forgot to take time to re energize your batteries . When we neglect ourselves we are not able to give our best to our families .
How can you love your life when you are stretched so far ?

Oh sweetie, there are alot of things your could be doing to fulfill your life. You could work part time, you could volunteer at the school or within the community. You could volunteer at the assisted living facility near you. OR!!! Get outside, take a trash bag, a pair of gloves and pick up trash along your walk. Walk 4 miles, it makes the picking up worth the bending over and yo've been surprised how much weight you'll lose. AND it set's a good example in the neighborhood. :)

How about writing children's books? How about writing to each of your children each day in journal made special for them.

Or you could come over to my house and clean for me. I have grown tired and old and don't feel like cleaning anymore. I don't even cook, I eat out all the time. lol hugs

If you're crafty, join a knitting club. If you're sporty, Buy a skateboard. If you're electronically smart, study computers. If you're all about nature, take a hike in the Adirondacks. If you are a walking, talking, breathing thesaurus, write a book! Learn to play an instrument! Donate to the poor! There are MILLIONS of things to do in this world, you just need to unlock them.

Then your richer than 80 percent of America. I don't mean money wise either. Look at what you have been blessed with. Your children are not facing a deadly disease. You're not visiting a child or husbands grave that was taken too early. You can see and hear and walk. You are more fortunate than most. You need god in your life.

Have you thought of doing something fun or doing volunteer work? Just something/anything to chase the blues of boredom away by keeping busy.

get up and do something active, find a job - it's really fun once you get into it and way better than spending all your time inside.
