compared to say astoria?

I have a friend in that neighborhood. She likes it. (Single white female, 20's.) As compared to Astoria, I'm not sure.
I haven't heard anything bad about it, if that helps.
Also, check out the NYC's website-- they have Precinct Crime Stats for each borough.

astoria is nicer, i think, but that doesnt make sunnyside or woodside bad.
Woodside is nicer then sunnyside, none of them are really unsafe.
Didnt you read NYC was the safest big city in the US in 2005?

Compared to where? Of course, just use simple rules, if you like the food stores then you will feel safe.
