Hey Cabrillo,
I have two favorites:
Volare
3528 Barnett Ave - San Diego - Loma Portal
(Across from MCRD @ Pacific Hwy and Midway)
(619) 224-0030
Poor Service (If Karen is working) - Side salads are nothing more than Iceberg lettuce - Soup is always minestrone that taste like it might be from can.... The place looks like a dive, In & Out!
Sounds Good Huh?
Mama Anna's entrees are to sing for! Her Piccata's are light and well balanced! Their Calamari is Juicy! Their Seafood is always delicious! Anna's Marinara suace is as it should be, light and simple.
The prices can't be beat!
=o0o=
Arrivederci, Pizzaria
3739 4th Ave
(4th and Robinson - Hillcrest - South of Robinson)
(619) 542-0293
Often Crowded (Especially on the weekends) they have a limited menu of 15 or so pizzas and an entree menu that boasts a total of 7 or 8 entrees. There are numerous salads and appetizers. Everything is very authentic (down to the staff) and I have yet to have a meal that was anything but superb! Far better than their sister restaurant up the street and NONE of the attitude!
Pirces are about $10-15 per person, not including wine.
These are my two favorite true Italitan restaurants in San Diego.
Good Eating,
James in San Diego

Paisono's has extreme scores, yet i do no longer think of it incredibly is one I actual have eaten at. We pass to San Antonio each and every so often and located an superb Northern Italian eating place with large wine checklist hidden in a distant nook of the walk next to a extensive lodge (regrettably i'm poor with names). finding on Google, i think of that that's maximum probable Michelino's at 521 River walk. You being there , you're able to desire to examine it out—whether it grew to become into actual Italian (we live in Chicago). i'm particular you're additionally responsive to Boudro's (no longer—Italian yet i be responsive to that call for particular) which has an superb lunch and that they make sparkling guacomole table side. i wish to be there back quickly and revisit those places and write down there names. wish you get exhilaration from..
