I'm not going into the how, but, I about ripped off my big toenail. But thankfully i got lucky and didnt, but it did start bleeding underneath the nail. So as i was cleaning it, the nail "popped" up, its still in place, and seems to be connected. It stopped bleeding within a couple minutes, but it is still "oozing" that's the best word i can think of to use. I did this Friday.

I was wondering, if there's any way for me to get it to stop, or if it will just stop on its own?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of feet being feet and being the last area of the body to get any blood flow, you need to be EXTREMELY careful of infection.

If you just cannot afford to go to the doctor (which should be your first choice), put Neosporin on it or ask your pharmacist what might be better. Keep it dry and bandaged and avoid walking on it as much as possible. The likelihood of that nail reattaching itself isn't really great, so even if it's not off now, chances are it will be in the future.

To be honest, if that nail "popped up" like you describe it and it's still oozing, you really probably need to see the doctor really, really soon ... like tomorrow.

So sorry to hear that happened to you ... just reading about it made me hurt! Hope you're better soon.

You may be about to loose your toe nail. Not a big deal, generally. You'll just grow a new one, most of the time. Not having ever seen it makes it hard to give you advice. Let your mom or dad or one who is close to you take a look. You might even require medical attention. Go. Get somebody in person.

Regards and good luck

Ouch....sorry about that ...Hmmm. I would just put some medicine on it and wrap it down with some goz and some medical tape. Time will heal it.

as long as its not still gushing blood. and you aren't on plavix or something, you're fine. it oozes probably because you constantly walk around on it. and "this Friday" means nothing to us out here.
