So, I give this girl a sonnet and she doesn't reply. I try and move on, forget about the whole thing. But after 3 days of not saying anything she bumps into me sometimes as if expecting me to to say something or I catch her looking at me in class maybe trying to chatch me staring at her. She slinks away in my Hist. Class towards her friend as if she doesn't want to be near me. I just gave her a sonnet and didn't commit a crime. Please tell me how to make a clear break of the matter? Any advice would be welcome.

She's embarrassed.... and waiting for you to say something. She is afraid to start up a conversation out of fear that you might get false hopes that she likes you (if she doesn't) OR move too fast (if she DOES like you).
You should just totally be funny and sarcastic and say something to her exactly like you JUST SAID on here - "Hey - don't worry, I just gave you a sonnet because I was feeling creative. It's not like I commited a crime or anything". Just say it jokingly to break the ice and get it over with.
She probably just wants it to be out in the open and over with too. But you need to be the one to just say something really casually and like it is no big deal.

Ignore her, and go on. There are many other fish in the sea, and you don't need the aggravation of someone to keep you on 'pins and needles.'

There are many girls who would love to have someone romantic send them a sonnet. You sound like you are still in school. You will have many years to find a person to settle down with. Enjoy life while you can. You are not promised tomorrow.

WOW DUDE A SONNET. I haven't heard any one use one of them for so long it's not funny. She must not be a brain or something on that level, some girl's just don't know how to appreciate something like that. Do yourself a favor...... forget her, she is not worth your time.

A sonnet? Interesting... I assume you're in HS, is that right? Well, if you're giving her sonnets and she doesnt appreciate them then dont you think you deserve someone who will? Just because you caught her looking at you doesnt mean she likes you. Dont you look at people all day long and not even know their names?

Try not to think about her and it'll pass. You will find someone who appreciates you and your efforts.

Move on. She doesn't seem interested. So carry on as if you have more important things to do and take care of. You do.. yourself. Don't act stuck up or hurt that will just make you feel more uncomfortable and make things more awkward. This shall pass and while it seems like it will never end It will.

WOW,I wish you were my age and gave me a sonnet. How romantic. She is probably to immature and just does not know how to handle this type of attention. You just need to explain to her that you meant nothing by it. Good luck sweetie
