Of course you can fly whatever flag you want. That's what separates countries like the US from other countries around the world.
I personally have no problem with you flying a flag that isn't Old Glory. However, if you are so mature, you should understand why people might be offended if a person moves to your country but does not want to be any part of it. I live in China. If I was constantly thumbing my nose at the Chinese and waving my American flag, I would expect the Chinese to think I'm an *sshole.
I apologize for any ignorant b*tthead who used the term "dirty spics." But remember, they are not worth the time it takes to give your response.
Good for you that you are so academically motivated. I wish you the best in your future. I caution you, though, to not become too bitter, and don't throw your Spanish around to show that you are superior. Good for you that you are bilingual, but I don't think I'm superior to you because I speak French, Greek, and a little Chinese. And I don't think my husband is superior to me or you because he speaks 7 languages.

You're the only person I've seen on this site using a vulgar racist word referring to hispanics in such a way.
If you want to fly a foreign flag, go ahead. Fly any flag you want.
What a lot of people don't understand is if a person is so loyal to a foreign country, and gripe about the U.S. all the time, then why not live in that foreign country? There's no fences yet keeping anyone here.

What are you so upset about, Sergio? I have not heard the word '****' used in the two years that I have been involved in halting the invasion. But I hear people of Mexican descent using terrible racist comments about "white" people, as if any of us white people are anything but generous, kind and sharing. You must be listening exclusively to the Activists whose interest are not the wellbeing of the Mexican Nationals but their own political agenda and career. They want the wealth and power that the ruling class in Mexico has. They actually believe that they have a shot at ruling Americans by inciting hate with loud, aggressive demonstrations peopled by the Nationals, Mexico's poorest, least educated and often illiterate citizens living here in the USA. No country can endure if all its citizens are not on the same page, with allegiance to America first. As Nationals, here illegally, the allegiance should be for Mexico, their homeland, but that begs the question: Why are they here? What is wrong with Mexico with its staggering wealth in natural resources and national treasures? What are the Nationals running from? Why would people who should be greatful for all we give them turn on us and call us horrible names and display rampant racism toward us. We, Americans, are not racists. We Southerners were in the years prior to Civil Rights legislation in 1965. White Southerners hung about 275 young black men in the South for something as simple as a black man smiling at a white woman. Savages, these uneducated, usually poor, illiterate white males. They used the "N" word liberally and made the black citizen feel like a second class citizen. In the Old South, they were second class citizens. That was the time, the place and the population that gave all Americans a bad reputation. But, as with the illegals now, just a few really bad human beings did the filth. The North was a different story in that Northerners lacked the history of slave ownership that Southern men had. But racism died for all practical purposes as a white injustice. America became enlightened and most of its citizens got educated and went on to college. Americans are a melting pot of all ethnicities, creeds, colors and sexual orientations. Europe gave us the basis of our culture and that was a good thing because the Europeans were educated and enlightened and that is why America evolved into the super power it is and will be unless multi- culturalism is allowed to get any greater a foot hold. Citizens MUST learn to speak English because this is an English speaking country. Many of us are bilingual and that is better, as long as English is the language used in public. Otherwise life is harder still. America will not become Mexico or any semblance of such. The Activists lied and the poor Nationals will pay the price. But we Americans will help those people we are acquainted with to the best of our abilities because that is what we have always done. We do not have a history of neglect of true need anywhere in the world.
So, Sergio, it becomes pointless to defiantly fly the flag of another country because such a "I hate America" statement only hurts the angry citizen or non-citizen.
You are obviously an achiever who will succeed but only if you stop the vitriole against something and someone you have no reason to be angry with. Children and teens will always learn the "bad" words because it makes them feel superior and "big men." And, my friend, Americans are supposed to "complain" when foreign nationals of any country are "invading." It is our responsibility to do so. It is your responsibility to do so. The problem is that many if not most Mexican-Americans have extended family in Mexico suffering under the hundreds of years of abuse by the ruling classes and they "feel sorry" for them so they blindly take the side of the "poor" apparently not realizing that their children and grandchildren will pay the price of an uneducated electorate that fears disobeying the leaders. Soon, America would be the mess that is Mexico. What an awful thing to do to a wonderful country such as this.
You and I have everything in common as citizens, college educated (soon for you) and so called deep thinkers who have compassion for others. But you and I are not stupid and neither of us goosesteps to the orders of others if it violates our sense of values, morals and ethics. And we will both speak what we d*mn well please.
But please, I would like to hear something more balanced from you. Take care.

This wouldn't fly in any other Country but America. Of course you deserve to be here. You were born here you are a citizen here. So If you like this Country and think it's so great why don't you waive the flag you traitor. Seems to me you are using it for what ever you can get.

If you are an AMERICAN, you give your ALLEGIENCE to the FLAG of the United States of A M E R I C A. You are not A M E R I C A N if you still give your loyalty, your allegience your oath to MEXICO!! You are being DISRESPECTFUL of the country you 'claim' to be a citizen OF! The following is something you might be interested in, maybe not. It was written before Alaska and Hawaii were states, but it still MEANS the same:

How about this as a thought, if you truly understood our anger, you would understand that our anger is geared towards the damn ILLEGAL mexicans that our crossing our boarders and luckily getting past my friends with rifles down there. If you are here legally, as well as your parents, fine, good for you. If your parents are here illegally, they should be deported immediately, same goes for you if you are not here legally. I only hate the ones that do not follow our laws, and that includes the ones to get in here in the first place! And yes, either you learn the language of the land, or LEAVE. We would not go down to mexico and expect everyone to learn English to cater to us, we would learn spanish, and expect that in return. And every single one that comes here illegally and uses my tax dollars to feed themselves and live in government paid apartments should be shot on spot for multiple counts of theft, and that is just the least of the charges.

Because many of our brave soldiers have died fighting and defending that flag to make America free. If you want to fly another flag then you are either an illegal alien or you need to go back to that country.

Yes, you can fly your Mexican flag as long as you have an American flag above the Mexican flag. How do you think Mexico would feel , if you went there and lived for a while and flew the American flag?? So along side of the flag in America, needs to be your Mexican flag. I am full Norwegian and I always have an American flag and along side of it , I fly My Norwegian flag. It is ok to do that as long as you do not dis-respect the American flag. You need to first put the American flag and then the Mexican flag. In Norway I first fly my Norwegian flag and then second comes my American flag. Do not dis-respect any countries flag, while you are in their country. It is called Respect.

Well, I think arguments should be civil to begin with.
I also think Americans should be 'allowed' to fly whatever flag you want. However, the same freedom allows other Americans to dislike them for it, and if people who are not Americans but want to be Americans do it, the voting Americans are free to place their vote on all pertinent questions as they please.
I guess I'm saying that it should always be legally permissible, but sometimes it shows poor judgment, at the very least.
