I just can't bring myself to spend that much in one day. Do the wedding you want and can afford but keep this in mind. The wedding is NOT the marriage. Save that money for your future seriously. We are spending around 500 bucks on our wedding total and that includes food, cake, reception, wedding ALL OF IT. And it is still tasteful and elegant and we will have the ppl most important to us. Right around 60 people.

Maybe $500 tops...I don't believe in a couple spending thousands of dollars on a wedding and going so deep in debt right away. Its just spelling doom. The number one major divorce problem is finances and bills. Why start getting over your head from day one? If you can afford a really ritzy wedding, then thats another story....

Depends on how much you have. But what is more important is how much would you spend after the wedding?

It depends on your lifestyle. I am middle income and 10 grand was enough. You have to bidget yourself on what things you want simple and what things you want to go all out on. I got lucky the hall I got came beautifully decorated and they gave me my wedding cake as a gift so that right there saved me. Food is probably where you want to spend the most on, you know everyone always talks about the food.

as much as you can afford. It helps if you get a church that is already really beautiful inside, you dont have to pay as much for decorations, or if you decide to have it outside, just make it where its very serene. Then unlike some people think you dont need a full coarse meal, you can have finger foods and fun foods, that will be cheaper. Anyway, hope everything works out well for you!

If I ever do get married (I'm 31 and currently have no plans to) I'd spend as little money as possible and just have a small private ceremony with no reception.

I never knew until I got engaged! The amount was always much lower than it actually is... and it's amazing how quickly the little things add up!
