It is a district in New York in Manhattan. It is short for the triangle below canal. Canal, being Canal Street. It is also referred to as the financial district because the world trade center and world financial center are down there.

TriBeCa is a neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. The name is a syllabic abbreviation of "Triangle Below Canal Street." It runs roughly from Canal Street south to Park Place, and from the Hudson River east to Broadway.

Tribeca means the "TRIangle Below CAnal St. Look on a NYC street map (Mapquest) and you'll see it.

There is an area in NYC called tribeca,, there is a tribeca film fest, there is a subaru tribeca to name a few. That is if you SPELLED it right.
