Alright, my cat is about 13-14 years old and her eyes have always, always been an older map sort of yellow color. However, about four weeks ago, her eyes suddenly started changing to a dark orange-brown color in about half her eye on each side. I can't find anything about it anywhere, so I'm wondering what could be the problem. I'm currently unable to take her to the vet because of money issues, but any help would be greatly appreciated so that I could further understand what's going on. Oh, and her behavior since then has been more skittish and less trusting of me. She won't let me pick her up unless I corner her! Anyways, any answers would be immensely appreciated, especially about the eyes!

Hi Rea...the colour change may be due to blood seepage as a result of either injury or infection perhaps age as well. This would require vet care...if you consider contacting all the local area vets someone may be willing to work with you on a payment plan. It also doesn't hurt to call and discuss this recent development as well.

Her change in behaviour indicates that she is affected by the vision impairment.

You did not say if she had other health issues other than age...

Sounds as if she may be having some severe vision issues. This could make her skiddish if she is not seeing correctly...

Problem is this could be age related or caused from something worse...

I would URGE you to at least call a VET and trty to find one that would see her and let you make payments on the bill.. SHe may be suffering.

Good Luck

I wish I could offer more help, however, that is a medical condition that should be diagnosed by your vet as soon as possible.
