Any exercise program can help you lose weight. The problem ( if you want to call it that) is that you will build muscle with any kind of strength training program. Which means the scale may give you higher numbers even though your pants are fitting a little better.
As always watching what you eat plays the biggest role in weight loss. The health benefits of physical activity are far greater than wt loss, so happy exercising!!!

good for you for getting regular exercise! if you're sore after every class you may be overdoing it a bit... lighten up for 2 or 3 classes and let your muscles heal a bit. also try to get some cardio in once or twice a week to make the most of your exercise program and see even better results.

now... you may not lose a lot of weight but you'll definitely see some nice results is how your clothes fit and your muscle tone. muscle weights more than fat to think about size and shape instead of just pounds.

once the class is over i would encourage you to use the skills and techniques you've learned to continue getting regular exercise.

have fun!

You can lose a little weight from doing strength training. You can also lose fat while gaining muscle, which is a good thing. Muscle is more dense than fat, so you will look leaner even if your weight stays the same.

One thing that can help with the muscle soreness is creatine supplementation. Read all about it in this free ebook - http://www.virtuousinfo.com/burnfat/creatine_report.pdf

Strength training is more or less weight lifting... It will build muscle, but not burn calories. However, the more muscle you have, the quicker your metabolism is. So, if you eat sensibly and do some cardio work outs, too, you should be looking pretty good by Christmas! Good luck!!

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate, and plan your diet carefully. Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

More than likely you will loose fat by doing this but you will also gain muscle so your weight may or may not change much!

anytime you get your heart rate up and you work up a sweat means you burn calories in turn you burn fat. The most important thing with dieting is to eat healthy and drink lots and lots of water.
