I have been dating my boyfriend for about 7 months now. The only thing that seems to come up now and then and cause trouble for us is his past.
When we first started getting to know each other he told me things about his sexual relationship with his ex. I was a virgin when I met him, and he only had that one partner before me. At first this was fine with me, but more and more he would reveal details about her, and things he did with her, and it just makes me sick thinking about him with her. He had no idea until I brought it up and told him how I felt, and he felt just horrible.
He said when we first started talking, he was trying to "impress" me and show me how experienced he was, and he thought it would turn me on. He realizes now how wrong he was.
But now I can't seem to get over some things he did with her, and also the fact that he didn't wait to have sex with someone he loved--me. I can't help but think this...any advice, or similar experiences? Thank you.

I had that same problem but I had to decide if i still wanted to be with him re all that irrelevent info on his past. Of course I got jealous but i had to dig deep in myself and let go of the jealousy so our relationship could grow and florish.. Well it didn't grow after 6 yrs because we both had resentment but now after 2 break ups and 12 years in knowing each other. We Love and Respect each other and know we only want to be with one another..
Lots of Luck
We all have to battle our own demons.. young or old...

my girlfriend revealed some dirty things she did with her ex to me too, and from time to time I used to just hurt myself... and imagine them together and doing these things together. It used to make me jealous, but you have to realize that this is the past, it is long gone. There is a reason why she did not make it into his present and you did. Just don't think about it, if you love him, everything will work out fine.

Ok he is no longer talking about his sexual prowess with his ex. You can do absolutely nothing about the pass, move on.... Don't dwell on the past, You should be making new memories with him, yanno the kind that makes him forget about his ex. I am sure he probably has already forgotten about her until you bring it up. Don't keep reminding him, he might start wondering about what he is missing. Get control of your emotions.

Maybe he's a bit insecure and wanted to get you a bit jealous or something but if he already stopped talking about her give him another chance he was just being ignorant. I used to talk about stuff I did with my ex but it didn't mean I didn't love my present partner.

You're deluded.

He is lying and manipulating you.

A man that was interested in being with you wouldn't give you details about his sexual escapades with his ex. Period.

Save yourself a lot of grief and get out now.

It sounds to me like he plays to many games. Wheres the respect???? He should have kept his freakiness w/ his ex to himself and he should of waited to have sex w/ you unstead of making it the issue all the time. He's all about himself you deserve someone who's gonna take their time on getting to know you first before having sex. I can't stand guys like that either.....
