A programme on BBC1 about the ancestors and family history of Celebrities. Very interesting! Colin Jackson (Athlete) was on tonight and he discovered than one of his ancestors was of Scottish descent. Have you researched your own family tree andif so have you uncovered any surprises?
I am trying to research mine... difficult task.

they're all excellent veiwing. I'm working most the times that they're on, saw the one about the female opera singer & the tail end of Babs W. Hubby watches all of them. How do you go about tracing a family tree?

Yes I've researched family history as far back as the 1700's. I am Australian and found out that my decents where not convicts on the fleets but an officer on the Second fleet that arrived on Australian shores.

never seen it until tonite, quite enjoyed it. i think the problem with geneology, is that we get to the point where we think family past is what made us what we are. i was envious of him, but unfortunately most people cannot fund a global wander to find out our roots. or get funding from the bbc! curiosity is good but the future is better because you can create it. i also thought it was tight that he laughed/smiled when he found his auntie?/grandmother? had been exumed. surely a bit of guilt should of kicked in that 5 years ago he could of stopped it if only he could of been bothered to look then?

I love watching 'who do you think you are'. I have tried to trace my family I got as far back as 1890's. I found it hard work so I have given up for now.
