First of all.....there are tests that the doctor can run (bloodwork) to see what kind of arthritis you have. I have degenerative arthritis which really sux's!!!!!!!! I'm about to have a total hip replacement and i've already had 2 major back surgeries and i think i will have to have knee surgery while they are doing the THR..........and i'm scared that it's not gonna stop there???? As for preventing it........don't smoke or drink or any of the fun things you use to do????????? I take about 8 or 9 different vitamins and supplements to help with everything.......go online and they can tell you exactly what to take to help with arthritis!! Good luck!!

For gosh sakes go to a doctor. If it is rhuematoid arthritis, it is a degenerative disease and the damage is irreversable. I'm only 42 and have had it for over 20 years. The doctor usually does a blood test and may do some x-rays. Over the counter medication helps with the pain, but it doesnt stop the damage.
