There are no birds left in the cage after one flew away. There was one bird and 4 mirrors.

I got it! 5 birds in the cage right? 1 flew away. How many birds are still in the cage? The answer is still 5 birds.

There are still five birds left. I have seen cages at the zoo where they fly around like they were in the woods somewhere. So my answer to yours is the number 5.
