I am having my first date with a woman I really like on Friday. It is a lunch date- just one hour. I plan to pay since I invited her. I already let her pick the place as I am meeting her by her work and she knows the area. Should I bring flowers to a first date? And a lunch date at that? If so, what kind. I don't want to come on too strong.

Since it is an informal lunch, how about informal flowers? A bouquet of daisies would be sweet, but not too foward. I think a woman would be flattered to receive them. Good luck!!

I am assuming that there is a little more to the story. I would think the common friend knows a bit about the financial ability of the man to pay for a meal for two at this restaurant. Assuming that is correct, it is generally the man who will pay - unless the woman insists on picking it up. In that event, the man should smile, thank her and immediately insist, "The next one is on me!"

If you're worried about it, don't. Just bring yourself and see how it goes. When you get the second date, I'm a big fan of one rose.
